Welcome back to the hearth. As our UFO & Alien Mystery Month continues to push the boundaries of the unexplained, we are turning our attention from historical archives to active, modern-day contact. Our co-host Rachel is away from the hearth fire this week, conducting traditional fieldwork and hosting events at the historic Ura Shrine. Katy Lynne Wolfe and Haley are thrilled to welcome back a favorite of the show: author, researcher, and active contactee Rupert Guy! Fresh off his work exploring the intense realities of cosmic connection, Rupert joins us around the fire to discuss the ultimate question: Is humanity actually ready for interstellar disclosure?

Join me as I talk with Dominic Chinery and Sasha Van Reenen about their new TV project ‘Ghosted’, mixing documentary with mockumentary, exploring local folklore, legends, and supernatural tales from Essex and beyond. (Yes – there’s more to Essex than TOWIE, although the TOWIE people may feature!)

We also talk about personal ghostly experiences and brushes with the world of the paranormal, and have a collective moan about how d*mn hot it was at the time of recording!

A doctor died — and claims he was taken on a tour of the afterlife and later channelled his account to a medium named Chico Xavier. That account became a film. In our July's show, former guest Stephen Sakellarios returns to The Paranormal Peep Show to look at how the spirit world might actually be, through the lens of films and books claimed to be channelled directly from the other side. Under the topic of discussion is a film made in 2010 called The Astral City, or Nosso Lar, a Brazilian film, based upon channelled writings of a medium Chico Xavier, who believed he was receiving dictation from  doctor André Luiz, who had died. Nosso Lar, the original title was a popular film, a drama and spiritist genre. The script was based on the book of the same name: Nosso Lar, released in 1944, psychographed or channelled  by the medium Chico Xavier, under the influence of the spirit André Luiz. His spirit at first went to what some regard as the lower astral realms, similar to conceived ideas of a hell. Through mental requests or perhaps prayer, the doctor is taken to the higher vibration state of the Astral City, where he encounters his own mother and former patients of his. He also learns how to do healing of newly arrived souls, and does rescue work. Stephen, Neil and Ben discuss the various aspects of this film which can be viewed on the Gaia channel, but some copies exist on Youtube as well. The film is in Brazilian but can be viewed with subtitles. Also discussed are other afterlife films and books, such as What Dreams May Come, Ghost, and books by Anthony Borgia. Ben also interviews a materialisation medium from the North East of the UK.

In this episode, Katy, Rachel, and Haley pull back the curtain on what happens when the tools we use stop being mirrors and start becoming gateways. From the raucous, kinetic energy of Victorian table-tipping parlors to the sharp, intense focus of the modern talking board, we track the fascinating evolution of spirit communication. Join us as we explore: The Shift to Dialogue: The psychology and history of moving from passive reading to active invitation. The Kinetic Energy of the Séance: A look at the 19th-century Spiritualist movement, table-tipping mechanics, and how collective energy manifests in physical spaces. The Ideomotor Phenomenon vs. The Unseen: Balancing the fascinating science of subconscious muscle movement with the chilling mystery of the unknown. House Rules for the Threshold: Why boundary-setting, personal responsibility, and knowing how to firmly say "Goodbye" are the most vital tools in any practitioner's kit. Grab a warm drink, draw your chair closer to the fire, and join the circle. When you knock on the door of the unseen, you have to be ready for whatever opens it.
