In this episode we go into detail about Bryce's recent brain MRI images and our joint decision to defer seizure medication for new.

We also have a heartfelt discussion about healing which is a sensitive topic and can be controversial. We are not shy about our relationship with Christ on our podcast and our efforts to help Bryce understand the importance of God and Jesus in our lives. We have seen God miraculously heal Bryce in many ways but understand that not all of our prayers will be answered according to our will but only according to His plans for our family.

Superbook is an app that we share on this episode that Bryce has grown into the past year and really enjoys! He is learning so much about the Bible in the stories and independently chooses it over his video games at times which makes our hearts so happy!

This episode is a discussion about the results of of Bryce's recent EEG showing abnormal activity with seizures while sleeping in the right temporal lobe of his brain. This is a different area from his brain bleed and original seizures which was the area of our concern.

Our decision to get a current EEG and MRI with a new pediatrician turned out to be a very wise move. Although there were no particular signs of seizures concerning us, it was a gut feeling - A feeling that we should not forget to give attention to his history of seizures that has been overshadowed with his autism. In fact, his autism diagnosis makes Bryce a greater candidate for seizures as his brain continues to develop.

We will continue to share this new development in our journey with you and are requesting for your prayers. Specifically, we are seeking prayer for Bryce's protection from further damage to his brain, peace of mind and guidance for us as his parents/advocate, and wisdom for his doctors.

This episode is a discussion about recent major breakthroughs into Bryce's thoughts. He told us his top fears. He told us WHY he gets SO UPSET  when someone tells him to be quiet. He told us why it's hard for him to write sentences. While we know there are more underlying reasons as to why he processes information this way, this information from him has given us tremendous insight to WHAT he is thinking. Knowing his thoughts allows us to help him and respond to his needs. These breakthroughs may also help him with his anxiety which is a continual struggle for him. 

We also share some major progress in a six-month period since we changed his diet and supplement routine. We are extremely encouraged and grateful to see Bryce flourishing in so many ways! Praise Jesus!

This episode is a discussion about how we deal with regression and celebrate progress. We also talk about the continuous pursuit of medical assistance for Bryce's brain and his gut.
It's never ending but takes on different forms for Bryce. We are making adjustments for supplements as we monitor bloodwork and behaviors. We also got established with a new neurologist and will begin EEG and MRI testing next month.

We talk about the benefits we have noticed when we travel with Bryce along with how we are enjoying this Christmas season with Bryce. His language and vocabulary continue to expand which has been very encouraging with the additional steps we have taken the past four months while working with the functional medicine doctor.

This episode is a discussion about the challenges of taking Bryce to new social spaces with peers outside of our "comfort zone".  Our challenge appears to be more about helping Bryce learn how to react to upsetting, unfamiliar environments than to engage with others. We continue to see and hear improvements with language, comprehension, and behaviors which keeps us encouraged that we will eventually work through these barriers.

This episode is a discussion about our first visit to an autism functional medicine doctor in South Florida. Bryce was described as a "complicated case" due to his brain bleed and not really knowing how that may still be affecting him.  We came home with a modified plan of supplements and will continue to closely monitor his diet with restrictions for potentially sensitive foods. We talk in depth about our visit, our current path, and our hopes/goals for Bryce.
