"The curriculum begins in kindergarten with an anatomy lesson featuring graphic drawings of children’s genitalia. The lesson avoids the terms “boy” and “girl” in favor of the gender-neutral variants “person with a penis” and “person with a vulva,” because, according to the curriculum, some girls can have penises and some boys can have vulvas. “Any gender and kid can have any type of body,” a related presentation reads.

In first and second grade, students are introduced to the key tenets of gender-identity theory. “Gender is something adults came up with to sort people into groups,” the curriculum states. “Many people think there are only two genders, girls and boys, but this is not true. There are many ways to be a boy, a girl, both or neither. Gender identity is about how you feel about yourself inside.” Next, students work through a lesson called “Our Names, Genders, and Pronouns.” The lesson tells them that “gender is like outer space because there are as many ways to be different genders as there are stars in the sky.” Students, the curriculum explains, can “change their name to match who they are, like their gender, culture, or just what they like better.” They can be “boys,” “girls,” “cisgender,” “transgender,” or “nonbinary,” and experiment with pronouns such as “they/them” and “ze/zir,” according to their personal preferences. “Only you can know what your gender is,” they are told."

NATIONAL SAFE SCHOOLS SUMMIT, REGISTER

Most states have adopted standards which include these basic provisions: Medically Accurate, Healthy, and Age Appropriate. We have found these standards are not followed by most CSE curriculums. Healthy is inaccurately defined, encompassing questionable medical treatments for mental health issues without parental permission. Medical accuracy is a subjective and often underrated requirement often lacking in the whole picture.   Because Age-appropriateness can only be determined best by parents, these lessons should only be offered by written parent permission. 

Senate Bill 818 added personal health and safety education standards in K-5, and made comprehensive health education more inclusive in grades 6-12.  School districts do not have to adopt the voluntary standards unless they are teaching comprehensive sexual health education. Parents can choose to opt out.

Course material and instruction help students learn about concepts like consent. It develops  self-advocacy skills for effective communication with parents or guardians, health and social service professionals, other trusted adults and peers about health and relationships. The Illinois State Board of Education developed and adopted these new voluntary learning standards.
The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to affirming that sexuality is a natural and healthy part of life. SIECUS develops, collects, and disseminates information, promotes comprehensive education about sexuality, and advocates the right of individuals to make responsible sexual choices.[1] It is acknowledged as the institutional voice of these concerns and a pioneer of the comprehensive sex education program.[2]

Planned Parenthood is behind all of the efforts to embed K-12 Sexuality Education in Public School. 

SIECUS, based in Washington, D.C. was founded in 1964 by Mary Calderone, medical director at Planned Parenthood, to challenge the American Social Hygiene Association's sex education program.

A consortium of publicly funded nonprofits wants to "decolonize gender" and normalize male genitalia as a form of authentic womanhood.

Transgender activism has been making inroads into America’s public institutions. The Biden administration has recently promoted neo-pronouns and gender reassignment surgery for minors, government agencies have celebrated the expansion of identity categories such as “pansexual” and “non-binary,” and public schools across the country have adopted curricula teaching students about transitioning from one gender to another. Trans activists often present their ideological program through a series of euphemisms and tautologies, such as “gender diversity,” “LGBTQ inclusion,” “love is love,” “protect trans kids,” and “comprehensive sexual education.” But these slogans obscure more than they reveal. The deeper nature of trans ideology is much much more radical and the public should have a clear-eyed understanding of what trans activists believe, beyond the protective layer of obfuscatory language....

Though this kind of ideology might appear to be the work of a fringe minority, it is becoming increasingly mainstream in activist and educational institutions. The host organizations for the “Decolonizing Gender” presentations have been remarkably successful in securing taxpayer funding and gaining access to children through educational and social service programs. TRACTION conducts education programs for transgender-identifying youth and has received funding from Washington State. Gender Justice League has received funding from King County and runs a housing program for transgender-identifying homeless minors. The Lavender Rights Project and Black Trans Task Force provide legal services for LGBT youth and have received funding from King County. UTOPIA

OPRF to implement race-based grading system in 2022-23 school year
School board members discussed the plan called “Transformative Education Professional Development & Grading” at a meeting on May 26, presented by Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning Laurie Fiorenza.

In an effort to equalize test scores among racial groups, OPRF will order its teachers to exclude from their grading assessments variables it says disproportionally hurt the grades of black students. They can no longer be docked for missing class, misbehaving in school or failing to turn in their assignments, according to the plan.

“Traditional grading practices perpetuate inequities and intensify the opportunity gap,” reads a slide in the PowerPoint deck outlining its rationale and goals.

It calls for what OPRF leaders describe as “competency-based grading, eliminating zeros from the grade book…encouraging and rewarding growth over time.”

Teachers are being instructed how to measure student  “growth” while keeping the school leaders' political ideology in mind.

ENGLISH TEACHER RESIGNS AT LYINS TOWNSHIP HS
Effective June 2nd, 2022, I, Tom Stukel, resign from my English teaching position of 17 years at Lyons Township High School because I cannot, in good moral standing, teach students well based on current administrative policies. I care too much about education and too much about students to abide by these policies. Based on my 24 years of experience as a high school teacher, it is my opinion that it is immoral to teach the way LT teachers are being asked to work.
"Parents! I write this to you, not the administration. I care about your students. I care that they get the quality education that they deserve and you expect. Parents! Be aware and be proactive to what is happening at your school and your student's' classrooms. Quality change will not come from the administration, the board, or even the teachers. The teachers here at LT are wonderful, caring people, but they don't have a strong enough communal voice to fight against lame policy.
Parents! It is up to you to make the change you want for your student. Parents! Demand that the policies that are harming your children's education change."

"The school administration refuses to allow any public debate concerning this book. Parents have been silenced. The most recently conducted zoom meeting on March 4th continued to make it clear that what they say goes, no one else was allowed to speak. All of us were muted by the school administration, questions that were sent by me amongst others were ignored. The meetings are fully orchestrated theatrical performances that fail to address parents’ concerns.

Parents’ rights have been violated and we demand immediate intervention.

The Bill of Rights published on the DOE site unambiguously states:

Parents have the right to:

Participate in regular written or verbal communication with teachers and other school staff and share concerns regarding their child’s academic, social and behavioral progress;
Participate in meaningful and productive parent-teacher conferences to discuss their child’s progress in school and have access to other school staff, as appropriate, throughout the school year to discuss concerns;
have their child learn in a safe and supportive learning environment, free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, and bigotry.

Parents have every right to be allowed to speak to their children’s school administration and should not be silenced. This is a public school, taxpayer-funded, and should not be permitted to completely shut down open discussion about our children’s education. The school should be required to abide by the federal and state constitutions and basic principles of allowing parents to speak about concerns they have regarding their children’s education. 

Such conduct reminds me of the country I grew up in with a totalitarian regime where one was not allowed to speak freely. The authoritarianism or totalitarianism the US Supreme Court said is unconstitutional.

Public Officers (PBO) CHAPTER 47, ARTICLE 7. § 103 is known as the open meetings law. Except PS 158 has a total disregard for it.

The NYS Board of Regents publishes many statements about civic readiness, including “Demonstrate respect for the rights of others in discussions and classroom debates, and how to respectfully disagree with other viewpoints and provide evidence for a counterargument.” Something PS 158 feels does not apply to them as these children are very young, and the rights of others in discussions, equally applies to the parents of these very young children. They want to teach respect of others, yet show total disdain for the viewpoints of the parents of these children when it suits their own political agenda.

Please take action to require this school’s administration to immediately set up a forum and allow for public discourse." New York City Chapter Director/Parent
