"Thank you for your words of wisdom. Right before you called me yesterday I was in the middle of writing an email to the schools counselor about my access to my son school records. I was laying the law DOWN to them.LOL! Then your call intercepted me from sending it.  After you expressed that I should remain gentle and get them to be an advocate rather than being defensive, I did just that.  And this morning I received an email from the counselor. She said after speaking to the school's legal department, I now have access to my child records!"

Thanks for being a caring Dad!

The Emperor's New Clothes, by Hans Christenson Anderson

Today is Friday,  February 18. We lost the recording to be aired yesterday, so are doing it today. That’s show biz!

This podcast is gaining momentum! We have reached a milestone: over 10,000 downloads! It’s great to know you are listening! That’s something, since this is new to me. Now I am encouraged to expand our reach. I hope you will continue to listen and share these episodes. From the beginning I believed this is one of the best ways to reach parents. I know you have very little opportunity to read lengthy articles or research materials on websites. PRIEs website is one of the best resources out there. Please use it when searching for more info. The show notes here are provided so you can do just that.

I spoke with a woman earlier this week about the dynamics associated with our issues today. Isn’t it incredulous people seem so ready to believe anything they are told? They don’t question the validity. For example the transgender issue. Basic understanding of biology would lead most to doubt the premise one can “change their sex” by using cross sex hormones, and remove body parts. Even more astounding is the notion, pre-pubescent youth should be stopped from going through puberty, and school counselors should identify those students and keep their decision from their parents. And this ridiculous reasoning can applied to mask and vaccine mandates, and other lame excuses for restricting freedoms and controlling citizens. In addition, what is more astounding is the willingness of the people to be controlled!

A fairy tale came to mind as we talked, The Emperor’s New Clothes, by Hans Christian Anderson. Have you read it? We often use the phrase when making a point, but do we know the story? I decided to share it with you.

Hans Christian Anderson was a Dane, born in 1805. He is recognized around the world for his books, including The Ugly Duckling, Thumbelina, The Little Match Girl, The Princess and the Pea, and many others. He endured many hardships and, by some accounts, transformed his pain into art. His fairy tales were highlighted in a movie in 1952, and he became a household favorite. His stories always had a meaning.

The Emperor's New Clothes, by Hans Christenson Anderson

This is particularly interesting in light of the times.

Fast forward to today! Who is the emperor? And who are the swindlers? I love this allegory. We must be continually vigilant to expose truth, although our nature is to leave the details of government in the hands of experts, not questioning their opinions. Like the “councillors, ministers, and men of great importance” in the story, we are prone to go along with the narrative we are fed by those who want to control and destroy our nation.

And did you notice? It was a child who started the conversation acknowledging the truth, “He has nothing on!” I have observed in our fight to regain parents’ rights in education, often those adults who are more financially successful are less prone to standing up for their children. They seem to be more concerned about what others think of them. "I don’t want to draw attention to myself as a troublemaker. After all, my views not be accepted, and I might lose my job." Then there are the public school teachers who are afraid of losing their jobs, even though the

    Sex Change Transitioning for Minors

Transgender ideology is not just infecting our laws, but intruding into the lives of the most innocent among us—children—with the apparent growing support of the professional medical and education communities.

"All of us should demand a halt to the medical transition of minors until rigorous non-agenda-driven, long-term research is completed." Dr. Michelle Cretella, executive director of the American College of Pediatricians

Sex change transitioning for minors is the new popular “thing,” now promoted in schools beginning in Kindergarten, promoting risky medical procedures for minors often without parental involvement.

The Federal Drug Administration has not approved pediatric hormone blocking, a relatively new practice, first introduced in the United States in 2007. Even though giving cross-sex hormones, like estrogen to a boy is also not FDA-approved, these so-called hormone treatments are now offered in Planned Parenthood clinics.

Celebrations of grade school student transitioning, like the third grader in West Linn, Oregon are becoming common. If the parent chooses, soon this 8-year old boy will be given hormone blockers to avoid going through natural puberty to become a man. The treatment is irreversible.

In his book, When Harry Became Sally, Ryan Anderson shares the results of a study examining the risk of suicide among transgender teens, confirming they attempt suicide more frequently than adolescents, generally. The study assumes the unproven belief that all gender identities are equally healthy and fixed in all children and teens.

This is an ideological premise touted by professional medical and psychiatric guilds, not scientific fact. Evidence suggests that sex reassignment surgery does not improve rates of attempted suicide.

The study also offers no proof that these radical therapies…will prevent adolescents from attempting suicide. The result of this will be scores more children needlessly sterilized, placed on toxic cross-sex hormones, and maimed by mutilating surgeries as early as age 13,—none of which have been proven to prevent suicide in the long term.

There is no medical path to achieve REAL gender change. It is scientific fact individuals are born with permanent DNA in every cell of their body, either male or female. Biological-birth sex, even with surgical alteration of body parts, and opposite-gender hormone treatment, is unchangeable.

There is another possible explanation for the high suicide rates that has received little attention. As Ray Blanchard and J. Michael Bailey, two LGBT affirming psychologists, have pointed out, it is quite possible that underlying traumas, mental health, and personality issues combine to cause both gender dysphoria and suicidality in vulnerable youth.

There is reason to suspect this may be especially true for girls. Multiple studies document a dramatic rise in adolescent gender dysphoria throughout the Western world that is particularly prominent among young wo

WINNING THE LANGUAGE WAR, by Christopher Rufo
The critical race theorists have constructed a series of powerful linguistic tools. To successfully fight against critical race theory, we must adopt language that is trenchant, persuasive, and resonates with the public. Here are some powerful words and phrases to include in your communications.

    Defining critical race theory

    • “Race-based Marxism”
    • “State-sanctioned racism”
    • “Woke racism”
    • “Racial engineering”
    • “Critical race theory divides Americans into oppressor and oppressed based on their skin color.”
    • “Critical race theory says the solution to past discrimination is present discrimination. I reject this. Racism is always wrong.”
    • “I oppose racism, whether it comes from the Klan or from critical race theory.”
    • “Critical race theory teaches that individualism, rationality, and hard work are racist. This is an insult to hard-working American families of all racial backgrounds.”
    • “Critical race theory rejects the idea of equal protection under the law. I believe everyone has the right to equal treatment, no matter where they come from.”

    Critical race theory in schools

    • “Race reeducation programs”
    • “Political predators” (reference to activist teachers).
    • “Neo-racist theories have no place in public education.”
    • “Critical race theory teaches children that they are defined by their race, not as individuals.”
    • “Critical race theory teaches children to hate each other and hate their country.”
    • “Critical race theorists have the right to express their beliefs as individuals; they do not have the right to use taxpayer money to indoctrinate children.”
    • “Critical race theory is not a free speech issue; it’s a compelled speech issue. Public schools do not have the right to violate a child’s conscience.”
    • “We must prioritize excellence, which inspires people from all racial backgrounds to achieve their potential.”
    • “Our goal is diversity without division.”

    Anti-CRT legislation

    • “Neo-racist theories have no place in our public institutions.”
    • “Public institutions must reflect the values of the public—not fringe racial theories that seek to divide Americans into oppressor and oppressed.”
    • “This bill does not prevent schools from teaching about racism, slavery, and segregation. It prohibits schools from indoctrinating students into fringe racial theories that claim one race is superior to another or that individuals should be treated differently on the basis of race.”
    • “This is not a free speech issue; it’s a compelled speech issue. The government does not have the right to force individuals to believe in race essentialism, collective guilt, or racial superiority theory.”
    • “Free speech was designed to protect the individual against the government, not to empower the government to force individuals to believe in fringe racial theories.”
    • “This legislation is about limited government—public institutions can no longer promote racist theories using taxpayer dollars.”

CRITICAL RACE THEORY BRIEFING BOOK, CHRISTOPHER RUFO

Critical race theory is an academic discipline that holds that the United States is a nation founded on white supremacy and oppression, and that these forces are still at the root of our society. Critical race theorists believe that American institutions, such as the Constitution and legal system, preach freedom and equality, but are mere “camouflages” for naked racial domination. They believe that racism is a constant, universal condition: it simply becomes more subtle, sophisticated, and insidious over the course of history. In simple terms, critical race theory reformulates the old Marxist dichotomy of oppressor and oppressed, replacing the class categories of bourgeoisie and proletariat with the identity categories of White and Black. But the basic conclusion is the same: in order to liberate man, society must be fundamentally transformed through moral, economic, and political revolution.

    10 KEY CONCEPTS AND DEFINITIONS

    1. Race Essentialism
    2. All whites are racist.
    3. America is a fundamentally racist nation.
    4. Collective Guilt
    5. Opposition to equality under the law.
    6. Opposition to Meritocracy
    7. Active Racial Discrimination
    8. Restriction of Free Speech
    9. Neo-segregation
    10. Anti-Capitalism and Forced Redistribution of Property

TEACHERS HAVE HAD IT! Student Behavior Gets an "F"

    • I had to break up a fight today and requested security and they never came. It's ridiculous.
    • I absolutely dread coming to work due to the toxic, unsafe work environment. The behavior of students is
    • out of control and the consequences or expectations for student behavior is tremendously lacking. Our
    • admin are not implementing consequences to behavior that creates change for students.
    • ●  High school teachers are getting no support. Halls are out of control. Kids are running the school.
    • Vandalism, fights, hate speech and these are all supposed to be managed by teachers.

Extreme acts of destruction--especially the bathrooms. Language and other disrespectful behaviors are rampant in halls and classrooms. Concern is the expectation that we work on relationships with the students as the solution. Members believe this is important and necessary, BUT relationship building won't work in discontinuing the unwanted behavior unless it is paired with consequences. Additionally, restorative justice measures won't work if a member has no relationship with a student that is not in their classroom, but with whom they are trying to enforce expectations of kindness.

    • If the education system continues this way I would consider it in a couple of years.
    •  I am looking for other jobs, but also feel guilty as the kids need seasoned teachers. We already have too many new staff who need support and are drowning in teaching this year.
    • I have wondered if this is specific to our district. I have been very seriously looking for work outside of our district for next year.
    • I wanted to work several more years. Don't know if this is sustainable, however.
    • Working for one school for my career in the hardest arena does not feel valued. Loyalty is no longer appreciated in this district.
    • There are many days where I have considered leaving teaching if I could find a job in a different field that paid the same. I love teaching, but I just work way too many hours outside of my contract hours.
    • I would not agree to another year here under the same curricular conditions if I thought I could find a different job.
    • I used to love this job, but I cannot sustain this type of stress beyond this year.
    • I would not have thought that a school year could be more difficult than the past two school years, but it is!
    • Will it continue on this trajectory? I'm not sure I want to continue to experience these working conditions for too many more years and not be compensated. I have hope that systemic changes will eventually happen to lighten the burden. I'm not sure how much longer I want to wait for things to improve. The job market is decent, with my master's degree and experiences it has crossed my mind to find a new career path.
    • I have talked with several veteran teachers who are wondering if they should stay in this career, which is heartbreaking because they are excellent teachers and absolute professionals.

"I absolutely dread coming to work due to the toxic, unsafe work environment. The behavior of students is out of control and the consequences or expectations for student behavior is tremendously lacking. Our admin are not implementing consequences to behavior that creates change for students.

    ●  Stop the focus on data, data, data

    ●  The fact that the district has decided to throw a ridiculous amount of initiatives at us in these conditions reveals a real lack of understanding about best practices in education overall, but especially for these times.

    ●  Constant messaging of "you are not doing enough" for students. Be equitable! Give them slack! It's OK if they miss class! (but don't give them a low grade). No support for academics. More meetings. More interference by admin in our department's day-to-day decision making. "

"Students are stressed and they are really struggling in a leveled class like I teach. Administrators are not supportive. There is an attitude that if students are dropping your class it is because you are not doing enough to support them. They are not considering the fact that many students basically took last year off.

    ●  So much on our plates, and the district says, "Take care of yourselves." I'd love them to take some stuff off our plates so we might have time to take care of ourselves.

    ●  We need to stop pretending that we can "catch kids up" to previous expectations with content and testing.

    ●  On top of all the other craziness in our building, we also have zero support in enforcing basic expectations of students being safe, respectful, and responsible. Our student body is so far below the standard of basic human decency and that rests squarely on our staff and the leadership in our building. It's ridiculously unsafe this year. Throw in the added danger of COVID-19 and we are at untenable levels of safety issues. "
