People screw up all the time. To the point where they by their whole reputation comes under societal review. Do they deserve a second chance? In this episode, we will take a look at what cancel culture is all about and if it is justified. We look specifically at the cases of Nessa Barret, Lacey May Jones and the case of French doctors wanting to use Africa as a testing ground for vaccines.

During quarantine, I had a wonderful discussion with an up and coming Kenyan comic artist who is taking Tik Tok by storm through his animated shorts.  We discussed the release of his newest edition of his comic as well as how he plans to use Tik Tok and social media in general to be able to boost his readership and spread his message worldwide. This was Pariah Nation's first attempt at an online podcast that is again talking about the Coronavirus and how this will affect the Geopolitical and Economic spheres on the African continent. We take eyewitness accounts from 3 regions of the continent including Morocco, South Africa and Kenya and we dig deep into the main ways in which our governments are tackling the virus and if we can employ any Pan Africanist strategies to be able to solve the issues that lie ahead.

In the depths of self quarantine, we assess the effects of COVID 19 on each part of society, in regards to the social, economic and political spheres.  It is a point of reflection that is worthy of discussion that this virus has somehow brought this world to a standstill and has caused panic in many communities. With this, we start to wonder about whether this panic buying fit is justified and how we should go about this idea of 'stocking up' for a 'lockdown'. Tune in for a wonderful conversation.

In this new season, we will be exploring the issues that are affecting the youth on a daily basis. The issue of male rights activism has become a recent phenomenon that is formed as a response to the ideal of feminism, mainly believing that feminism targets men and has left them behind. In what we believe to be a balanced discussion, Laura and I dive into the heart of male rights activism and have questioned its foundations.  We tackled the issue of male rapes, the wage gap, 'men are trash' and other issues involving patriarchy in an attempt to find out what has caused the rift to form between these two groups and whether or not it is rational.

In our last episode, we discussed the traits that every young leader should have when rising up in their respective positions. Additionally, we also assess the issues that are currently facing Black and other minority groups that are trying to reach for leadership positions and how they can be able to counteract self doubt and build within them self confidence. It truly has been a great few seasons interrogating the main tenets of leadership, we will now be moving into discussing issues affecting the youth in the modern day.

As a bonus episode this week, we tackled the topic of hate crime with Jessica Reese, a Hate Crime Manager at Victim Support Wales. She assists victims of hate crime in being able to overcome the challenges that come with being physically, emotionally or psychologically targeted for no reason apart from prejudice. In this episode we tried to uncover the main motivations of Hate Crime and the effect that social media has had on how Hate Crime is done. 

This week we sat down with the Somali Mindfulness Podcast! We unpacked their story and also tackled the issues preventing the youth from chasing their passions and dreams. We also established that University is something that can easily be forced on the youth and the conversation surrounding it needs to change. A podcast full of laughter, intellect and fun, this is rumored to be the best episode so far!

This week we sat down with Ben Hofmeister, a 24 year old entrepreneur that owns two businesses. In one of his lives, he helps connect local sporting teams with sponsorship and other networking links.  In another one of his lives, he owns a CBD business that produces CBD oils and creams in the hopes of changing the stereotypes surrounding  non intoxicating marijuana products and connecting with people who are on a journey of self discovery.

In this episode, we sat down with Ali Abdi. A community organiser from Cardiff that shared his experiences of helping foster community in his area. Among other things, we also discussed the barriers that are preventing the youth from engaging in their communities and being part of the community transformation process. This topic stretched to the idea of brain drain in Africa and how it is preventing Africans from being able to use the skills they've learned abroad to give back to their home country.
