In this episode, we meet Gibson Munene, a rising entrepreneur in the Silicon Savannah. We talked extensively with him about the tech industry in Africa and how it is shaping entrepreneurship today. We discussed the place of Cryptocurrencies in Africa, Artificial intelligence and more! We are giving everyone tips on how to stay relevant in the next decade using tech.

In this show we interviewed Leroy Mwasaru, the youngest person to be featured on Forbes Business Africa’s 30 under 30 list for his role in social entrepreneurship. While in high school he started ‘Greenpact’, a company that sells affordable biogas to provide renewable energy to clients and also helps them set up bio digesters. His other business ‘CampBuni’ teaches entrepreneurship and design thinking to students all across Kenya. Apart from being a One Young World scholar, he has been featured on the huffington post, CNN and more.  

While discussing several different other topics, we zeroed in on the back end of his business Greenpact and also discussed the difficulties facing African Entrepreneurs in the modern day.  

Meet our newest guest on #pariahnation:  Egypt Ufele. A young and rising entrepreneur who started both of her businesses at the age of 10. One of the businesses is known for selling African wear and has been featured in the New York fashion week, on top of that, her online store has attracted over 525,000 visitors.   She is also currently a UN Junior Ambassador of Peace and has been featured on CNN, Black Enterprise and also has her own Ford Motors commercial titled ‘Unstoppable’. 

We talked about the challenges facing young entrepreneurs and delved deeper into the root causes of bullying and how her business tackles that head on. On this episode, we brought on Rifhat Qureshi, an entrepreneur and shop owner that is building her brand selling hijabs, abayas and other modest wear. We focused on the problems that face minorities and other sources of hate that are prevalent on the journey of being an entrepreneur. Rifhat gave priceless insight into the value of entrepreneurship and explains what it has meant to her.

Featuring our first guest, Nirushan Sudarsan, we opened up the discussion of community leadership and entrepreneurship. Nirushan has been an active member of the Cardiff community and has helped plan and execute many valuable community projects and he shares his insight about how he was able to do that.  Also covered, were the topics of time management, pursuing passion and the challenges a community based entrepreneur can face .
