Today we conclude our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Mike Engbers will be preaching a sermon called "Shipwrecked".

We see the final passage in the book of Acts and we see Paul’s compassion saving all involved on the boat who listen to him. There is no distinction and all are valued. As time goes there are opportunities for Paul to witness to those around him and we see that what the world takes as unexpected, God redeems for the purpose of His kingdom in this world. Paul’s journey comes to a conclusion in Rome where he begins preaching. He is where God led him, and God continues to use him. Our faith journey does not end at any specific point… it continues and through it all God is faithful.

Today we continue our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Mike Engbers will be preaching a sermon called "Paul on Trial".

Paul utilizes the legalities of his times to his advantage, but he also doesn’t speak negatively or attack those who are against him. His message is strongly focused on the gospel and the message he communicates is a witness in how he says it as much as it is in what he says. In the midst of all this it becomes clear – for some our message is mere foolishness as scripture proclaims, but we also know for others the message we share takes root and leads to eternal life. We cannot let the challenges we face, the oppression of those who oppose us, or the disbelief around us dissuade us from being a people who proclaim God’s truth.

Today we continue our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Bishop Athanase Chiruza will be preaching a sermon called "To Jerusalem".

Paul heads to Jerusalem despite knowing the hardships that face him there. Paul has ways to get out of going and doesn’t take them. He believes he is going where he needs and is putting Christ before his own comfort and even his own safety potentially. What are we willing to sacrifice for the sake of the message we are called to bear witness to?

Today we continue our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Mike Engbers will be preaching a sermon called "Moving Forward".

Paul continues forward in ministry but it causes division in the world as people oppose the gospel. This is a spiritual battle. We need to recognize there is a spiritual reality in the midst of our living as people of God’s kingdom and we need to turn to Christ to fight the battle for us as we root ourselves in prayer and faithfulness. As we do this, our witness is transformed as we trust in Christ and not the ways of the world.

Today we continue our sermon series on Movement: The Book of Acts. Mike Engbers will be preaching a sermon called "A Church United".

We see a church divided and in need of unity. So they choose to meet rather than avoid issues and concerns. Despite their difference, the church turns to discerning together and come to a resolution that they seem able to move forward with. It is a resolution that holds to convictions but also offers grace and love.
