Parliament Community Church Podcast

Today we will be completing our Holy Spirit sermon series. Pastor Mike will be preaching on the Spirit Led Church.

When the Church is led by the Holy Spirit, it is tangibly different than the world around it. Both the individuals within, and the community of faith itself, reflect the transformation of the Holy Spirit and the church is empowered to do the Lord’s work in the world around it. How do we need to step out in faith and respond to the Holy Spirit as a church? How are we seeing the Holy Spirit work in our midst currently? Do we believe the Holy Spirit wants to work in and through us?

Today we are continuing our Holy Spirit sermon series. Pastor Ben will be preaching on the Spirit as Unifier.

The Holy Spirit works to mature believers and bring us into unity in the Spirit. The work of the Spirit moves us to put the community of faith first and to seek unity in love for one another. This is a self-sacrificial unity that puts Christ, and others, ahead of ourselves. How is the Holy Spirit wanting to use you to build unity in the body of Christ?

The idea is how the Holy Spirit transforms and renews us to be people who reflect Christ in our lives and in the world around us. It hooks onto the Romans 12:2 part of the verse that says "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

God uses the Holy Spirit to equip us to do His work in the world and in the community of faith. Spiritual Gifts are given not for personal benefit but for the benefit of the community of faith. Gifts that are used should always edify the body. Each person has a gift to be used. Gifts are affirmed and recognized in the context of community. How has God gifted you?
