Ps Hilary Williams continues our serving series with a continuation from last week. This message focuses on unhealthy attitudes towards ourselves and those around us, whether we serve to impress, or we serve believing we are indispensable to the cause. Ultimately these stem from us placing ourselves on the throne of our hearts, and the only remedy is fixing our eyes on Christ. Any service then becomes what it should be - an act of worship to Christ, and an act of love to our brothers and sisters.

Ps Hilary Williams kicks off our new series on serving with a healthy spirituality. So often we jump into service with the wrong mindset - be it thinking we can win favour from God, or that we can pay Him back. Not only will this frustrate our service, but these attitudes contradict a gospel of grace. Instead of serving for our gain, our service must always be a grateful and worshipful response to Christ.

Andrew Mihaleff closes our Faithful series on the subject of worship. We take a close look at Genesis 22, and how Abraham is given the seemingly impossible task of offering Isaac. While some see God as harsh in this episode, the real lesson we learn is that God is after our obedience and allegiance first. As we grow in yielding our lives over to Him, our appetite for this world wanes and we find ourselves increasingly willing to give greater trust and obedience to our loving Father.

Rohan Arudselvam shares an encouraging word on faithfulness to His word. God has given us His Word to be the foundation for our lives as Christians. Just as Jesus told in the parable, when we are built upon His Word, we will not be shaken - even if everurhinf around us is shaking. In addition to our own lives, we have the opportunity for the word of God to create a legacy for those around us.

Ps Tania Harris shares a timely word on faithfulness in a hostile world. We take a look at the vision of Jesus enthroned which John sees in Revelation 4 and 5. This posed a pointed challenge to the early church: Caesar or Christ? As it was for them, so it is for is. To live under the shadow of a hostile world, we must do as the early church did - walk with the Spirit, who helps us to live like our Lamb.

Ps Hilary Williams continues our Faithful series by looking at King Asa as a case study. While Asa started out well, and lived as mostly a faithful king, he fell away towards the end of his reign. For us today, the lesson is to continue in faithfulness - and being faithful to do the will of our loving Father. We need to remind ourselves that Jesus promised many things for those that overcome - which the Bible defines as those who remain committed to Him.

Dharsh Williams continues our Faithful series by considering the way we respond to God's invitation through the gospel. Drawing on Hebrews 11, Matthew 22 and Romans, we consider the question how are we to respond to the invitation that we have all been given to God's wedding banquet. As ones that are now saved by His grace, our response ought to be one that seeks to serve God faithfully, and respond with joy to His invitation to life. We would also do well to remember the Holy Spirit enables us to live fruitful lives for Him, and as it were, gives us the "wedding clothes" we need to respond faithfully to God's invite.

Ps Hilary Williams continues our Faithful series by considering Jesus' words in the Olivet Discourse. The heart for this series is to see us remain committed no matter what - the challenge is that most of us find Christianity harder than we realise. In these passages we see parables about our returning King and how Jesus wants us to balance between looking to His appearing and honouring Him here and now.

Luke 15:11-32. Ps Jim Elliott concludes our suffering series by examining the story of the Lost Son. We often ask God: how long will I have this pain? We see the suffering of the compassionate father - who watched the horizon continually, hoping for his wayward son to come home. We have the hope that although trials exist, we live in the tension of blessings here and now, and the blessings that the unveiled presence of Jesus will provide.
