That is, we must remember there is an eternal reality beyond this temporal life. How we use our resources matters - not only here on earth, but in heaven, and to our God.

Instead, we are reminded that it is God who owns all things. Truly realising that God entrusts His wealth for us to be stewards of, changes our heart towards money, and how we use it.

Mark 12:41-44. Ps Hilary Williams kicks off our series on wealth by looking at God's perspective. Part of the big problem with earthly riches is that it creates an illusion of security in our hearts. God wants us to see wealth was never meant to be an ultimate pursuit for our lives, that will only leave us insecure and dissatisfied. Rather, God blessed us with wealth to be used wisely, for the benefit of those around us.

Mark 10:13-27. Ps Hilary Williams concludes our Unless series looking at Jesus' encounter with the rich young ruler. In perhaps the greatest challenge in this series, we see a young man who seemingly has everything altogether - and yet, we are reminded that salvation can never be earned. Jesus also lovingly shows him - and us - that so often the gifts that God gives, can quickly become idols in our own hearts. We will never be able to say we trust in Jesus, until our allegiance is to Jesus.
