Matthew 6:9-10. Ps Louis Baron considers Jesus' instruction on prayer as an insight into the Kingdom. We quickly realise throughout scripture that God's heart is to bring glory to himself. Some might interpret this as narcissistic of God. However, when God brings glory to Himself, he proves His love by lighting the way for us to find the true source of our satisfaction. This is the reason that we pray for God's name to be lifted, so that His glory might be known.

Colossians 1:9-14. Ps Hilary Williams challenges us to consider what a kingdom person looks like. Being a kingdom person means that we become increasingly aligned to the will of God, and living for the honour of God. We also see that this is not only a process, but this is ongoing - and will only happen as we habitually and purposefully fellowship with God through His Word.

Romans 14:17-19. Ps Hilary Williams challenges us with the vision God has for us in 2020. In many ways, nothing really changes. We remain committed to being a transformed, missional people. However, we sense the word KINGDOM for the year ahead - which should remind us that we do not belong to this world. As Paul desires for the Roman church, we desire that our lives on earth are built on and inseparable from our relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 6:9-13. On this Father's Day, Ps Hilary Williams considers what the Lord's Prayer tells us about God's heart for families. What may surprise us about this well-loved scripture, is that this speaks so much about our relationships with God and those around us. In a world that screams about individuality and putting ourselves first, the heart of this prayer - and the message to fathers - is worshipful dependence on God.

Hebrews 13:8-16. Ps Louis Baron concludes this series by considering being faithful. In its context, Hebrews pleads with the Jewish readers to return to the gospel in all its fullness. This means putting the gospel before our culture, even if it means persecution. The key to this enduring loyalty, is realising we serve the One who is eternally loyal to us.
