1 Thessalonians 1. Ps Hilary Williams opens our "Growing In..." series looking at 1 Thessalonians 1. Having heard a great report about this fledgling church, Paul writes to this church in response. His opening reminds the church who they are - which is a powerful antithesis to the way we as humans treat identity. We are brought back to this truth: God's love is the basis of our Faith and the reason we want to share it.

John 4:4-10, 39-42. Ps Louis Baron examines Jesus' meeting with the Samaritan woman - which greatly helps our approach to mission. When we see Jesus as the source of our salavtion and our identity, we cannot help but approach others with urgency, humility and boldness. Ephesians 2:1-10. Ps Louis Baron kicks off this mini-series looking at evangelism and its importance. Paul reminds the Ephesians that every human is helplessly enslaved to sin - but also, that God showers grace upon us and sets us apart for His glory, favour and plan. We are ultimately reminded that in order to experience the gospel, we must first hear the gospel - which, in turn, means we have a clear responsibility to proclaim this gospel.

In bringing our teaching on Hebrews 11 to a close, Ps Hilary Williams sums up the "Big Faith" series by applying the various principles to us as a church. In our context, we may not need to uproot like Abraham, lead like Moses or fight like Joshua. However, if we want to live a life of faith, we must be prepared to sacrificially step into the unknown - which in turn is only possible when our vision is consumed in Christ.

Having looked at faith as our foundation, we may ask, what does real faith look like in the ups and downs of our Christian lives? We see two key characteristics of these giants in faith - a courageous attitude to see exploits in faith, and at the same time, a steadfast will to persist, even when we cannot see the answers.
