We have seen that faith should lead to works - however, getting to that place can often elude us. Anoj Joseph looks at the example of Joshua and Rahab in Hebrews 11 - where we see that faith first comes by hearing. We must see that the starting point of all acts of faith are grounded in what God has done. This is what our faith which will sustain and build our faith to the point of stepping out in obedience.

We love the idea of a life of faith, but what does that really mean? Ps Hilary Williams considers Moses' example in Hebrews 11. We see deep faith translating into acts of radical obedience met with God's presence and power - but often accompanied by unfavourable circumstances. The only way that we will be sustained in this life of faith, is through having a vision of Jesus as the ultimate victor that He is.

We all want to have faith, but what makes us most uncomfortable about faith, is that we almost always have to wait for God to move. In this message, Andrew Mihaleff looks at the faith of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. God promises that Israel will come from their family - yet God's fulfilment took centuries. In the same way, faith should produce in us a patience and obedience that trusts God with our future - both for tomorrow, and for eternity in heaven.

Philippians 4:4-7. How do we become people of Thanksgiving? Ps Louis Baron closes out 2018 by looking at Paul's message to the Philippians. Whatever life brings and whatever anxieties we face, we submit these to Christ through worship and prayer. As we do this, we realise that we do not serve a distant God - rather we have a heavenly Father that loves and hears us attentively.
