Welcome to Part II of our mini-series all about learning to get the most out of life in the midst of the journey!
In this segment we continue where we left off, talking about the importance of not being problem oriented, but looking for opportunities to turn apparent negatives into positives. When we get frustrated and resist the processes of our journey, we only make things take longer and make it harder on ourselves. The reality is that God is preparing us for the His best by using our experiences in life to gain discipline and the right perspective so that we can truly enjoy it and not be destroyed by the power and opportunities. God is not trying to punish us and tear us down and He is not the Source of the bad things that happen in our lives. Yet He doesn't always intervene right away for us because having to wait teaches us humility and to trust Him. We also address how being hurt by others can be big obstacles in our path. We must choose to grow through those situations instead of blaming ourselves, God, or others and being stopped by unforgiveness. We have never really arrived in life and every single relationship can only be kept by a very intentional process we must choose continuously.

Welcome to Part I of our mini-series all about learning to get the most out of life in the midst of the journey!
We begin with setting the premise for the whole series, explaining that the processes of life have deep value and purpose, and that we must fix our values in the right order so that we can fully absorb the benefits of challenges and everyday life. We talk about the importance of the fear of the Lord, intentionality, and gratitude for living in the best God has for us. Anchoring ourselves to these values, along with the exercise of living in the moment (which is practicing mindfulness of the present good in our lives and choosing to delight in it), helps us to grow as people. When we choose God's values for our life, we can grow in deeply enjoying life and retaining strong, positive memories of our experiences all along the way.

Welcome to Part VI of our mini-series all about mindset!
In the final installment of the series, we continue where we left off, talking about the necessity to pursue wisdom through discipline. The best for our life will ultimately come from yielding our hearts to God and seeking out His plan for our life. The process of growing into the best that God has for us is something we need to find value in and of itself. Then we are able to love our life and delight in each moment. With patience, we can enjoy the moment while we are also excited about where we are going. A huge part of this is learning to relax. When we are relaxed, God has an easier time working through us and we are able to get into flow and respond creatively instead of reacting in frustration or fear. Trusting God and the processes of life that He has engineered for us is the choice that we must make so that we can enjoy life and stay relaxed. Through continuing to practice trust and surrendering control, we can learn to fully embrace life and receive the full benefit of what our journey is meant to give us.

Welcome to Part V of our mini-series all about mindset!
We begin the episode talking about attitudes and how it is truly our choice what attitude we have. If we are honest with ourselves, we choose a bad attitude because we feel like it, not because life is forcing us to have it nor because it is going to be helpful to us in any way. Having the right attitude – such as in deciding to be positive about challenging ourselves and adopting healthy changes – accelerates us in our growth and decreases unpleasantness and brings it to a sooner end. We can think of something we are doing or about to do as really hard and create dread around something we need to do and that will make things feel a lot harder in the process of doing them. But if we choose to look at it either in a more neutral way or even psyching ourselves upward to be positive about it, we will find that it is a lot easier to accomplish. We share further strategies and tactics for choosing an attitude that empowers us for life. Ultimately, we boil down the answer to getting into the best attitude for our life: devoting ourselves to the pursuit of wisdom and choosing self discipline above our other, more immediate desires and appetites.

Welcome to Part IV of our mini-series all about mindset!
Continuing from last segment, Brandi shares about how we have learned to use the power of mindset to overcome feelings that can drag down our energy even at the beginning of the day sometimes. We share some very effective tactics we have found such as gamifying our tasks. Using creativity to bring fun into our daily routines and to structure our day in a way that keeps us engaged and enjoying ourselves (even as we're working) is one of the biggest lifehacks to make life more enjoyable – AND get more done, faster! It's all in the attitude: staying positive and enjoying the challenges instead of stressing. We must keep the right focus on the good so that we stay motivated and energized. On the opposite end of the spectrum, having a bad attitude is always self sabotaging. It's crucial to realize that a bad attitude doesn't just happen to us, but it is a choice that we can make by reacting to the negative feelings we have at times.

Welcome to Part III of our mini-series all about mindset!
Picking up where we left off, Brandi talks about how she has had to go through a process of undoing the damage from the mind-games that her captor played to keep her under control. We can get twisted up in our minds when we learn the wrong lessons from bad things that happen to us and the bad people who try to force their way on us. We don't just instantly get better when we realize that we have personal power to move forward from that situation. There will still be time needed to heal and correct the wrong mindsets that we adapted. We also talk about how with practice it is possible to choose our attitude in a day and not be a victim of the first-reaction feelings we have. In order to choose a good attitude though, we have to first realize that we can make that decision in the first place; and then we must adapt a powerful mindset that is always focused on being proactive to make everything less of a fight for us to be positive as much as possible.
