  • Passed Ball Show #655 (12/21/2022)
12-21-2022 Passed Ball Show. John spends the majority of this show speaking of his proudness to be a New York Mets fan right now. The Carlos Correa reported signing is one that he is having a hard time matching throughout the history of the franchise. While expressing his excitement, he discusses the implications on what the Mets have become as it compares to the past perception of the New York Yankees. He also makes it clear that the rest of MLB and their fans will hate the Mets. He also compares the 1986 Mets perception and the fact that the players were hated by other teams to the likeliness of a similar occurrence with the 2023 and future teams. John takes a couple of minutes to discuss the falling apart of the negotiations between the San Francisco “Baseball” Giants and Correa and how bad it looks from their end. How do they pivot to salvage an offseason that obviously had higher aspirations. Go trade for Ohtani? John concludes this program that this day should be enjoyed by all Mets fans, even the many that John does not get along with. Here is to John’s hopes to a great future for his favorite baseball team.

  • Passed Ball Show #654 (12/20/2022)
12-20-2022 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this show by talking about Jacob deGrom’s decision to leave the Mets and New York. John specifically talks about Jake’s right to not want to thank the fans, the Mets, and New York if he truly does not want to. John makes the comparison to a “forced” apology- one that we ALL know is not sincere. John states that Jacob has the right to have not liked his time with the Mets, to have not liked his time with the fans, and to have not liked his time in New York. Fans and the media have the right to treat him however they want as a result. John then laughs about something that has proven to be true. You ever notice that every fan that complains about the officiating during an NFL game happens to also be a fan of the team that loses. Coincidence? Of course not. John gives an unequivocal answer on who the worst coach in the history of the NFL is and finishes off ruffling feathers by stating why Trevor Bauer has the right to work.

  • Passed Ball Show #653 (12/14/2022)
12-14-2022 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this program by talking about how great a job MLB Player Agent Scott Boras has done this offseason. He has gotten his players paid and it seems like his pending FA clients will be getting paid as well. John describes the payroll flexibility many teams have had and why San Francisco was ready to pay Carlos Correa. He uses the same logic to explain why Carlos Rodon might end up with the Minnesota Twins. In between, John bugs out on the losers on social media who have nothing better to do than make up random shit and hope something sticks to the wall. Finally, John wonders if the Yankees could convince Rodon to take a pay cut (he could get a $200 million contract) and how much of a hero he would be in New York if he did.

  • Passed Ball Show #652 (12/13/2022)
12-13-2022 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this show by talking about the embarrassment that is the Oakland Athletics. The franchise is currently being run into the ground by its cheap ass owner with little hope in sight. John believes something could be done to save the team and he brings up a couple possibilities. He then pays his respect to Mississippi State Head Coach Mike Leach, who passed away last night unexpectedly. John questions whether running plays up the middle are the reason to explain injuries to Deebo Samuel, Trey Lance, and Jimmy Garoppolo. John finishes off the program by once again explaining why the baseball hall of fame is a joke.

  • Passed Ball Show #651 (12/10/2022)
12-10-2022 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this program by stating what the most overrated annual game is. He then explains why the Mets were in a Catch 22 situation this offseason because of how impactful their free agents were this season. They needed to retain/ replace their free agents (and that cost of business is high) just to be as good (on paper) as the team that won 101 games in 2022. After discussing how long it has been since the Mets had a wire to wire NL East division winner, let alone World Series Championship, John gives the reason it makes the most sense right now for the team to do whatever it takes finally to win a World Series next season. John reiterates his belief in Baker Mayfield by stating there are NOT 32 NFL Quarterbacks that are better than him. However, it is important for Baker to prove himself over the next four (4) games of the regular season to earn his next job for 2023. Finally, John laughs at the Phoenix Suns and their childish sore loser antics in the waking seconds of their recent loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

  • Passed Ball Show #650 (12/7/2022)
12-7-2022 Passed Ball Show. John opens up this program by displaying the point of view of the average baseball fan during the free agent signing period. As players sign new deals with teams, the fan reacts to each one as if it applies to their own favorite team. Every time a free agent signs, that means the person’s team missed out on another player. John then talks about the surprising sudden firing of Tennessee Titans General Manager Jon Robinson. Weird to see a team fire a GM that is currently in first place. John believes it completely has to do with the trade of Wide Receiver AJ Brown to the Eagles, where the reminder of Brown’s value was on full display to Titans owner Amy Adams.
