No matter how things seem to change, they somehow have a certain familiarity.  In the book of Ecclesiastes it says that there is nothing new under the sun.  There is no new knowledge, there are no new circumstances, and there are no new situations.

Take advantage of this opportunity to be a blessing to someone else this week.  Don’t take for granted the manifold blessings that have been given to you.  Whatever you have been blessed with is not intended for you alone.

Whether it is a passing glance or a pleasing smile, life is full of simple things that bring about amazing moments.  Moses saw a light on the mountainside, Jacob had a dream with a ladder, and Mary had a baby.  Taken lightly, these moments could be insignificant or life changing opportunities.

The book of Philippians is a source of encouragement from the first to the last word. The amazing thing about it is that when the Apostle Paul wrote the epistle he was a Roman prisoner. Paul rejoiced in a greater prisoner status, as a prisoner for the Lord.

Spirituality has little meaning if there is no relationship with God to support it.  There are many people who feel that it is enough to be spiritual without being specific in who they are spiritually connected to.  Just saying “God knows my heart” does not qualify as having an established, committed relationship with Him.

Knowing the right thing and doing the right thing can be worlds apart.  Paul wrote that the reason we come up with our own brand of righteousness is because we do not know what God’s righteousness is.  His power to forgive, redeem and restore is beyond our limited capacity to comprehend or understand.

When the summer is fully upon us, how will we bring glory to God? Is there someone in your neighborhood who could use some help with their yard? Is there someone you could go visit at the hospital or the nursing home?

What is foolishness to the world, God will use for his glory. Let the light that is within us from God shine so brightly that it will make those who observe us think that we are not behaving in a dignified manner. A dignified manner is one that accepts things as they are without testing it for truth or accuracy.

There is something about mankind that sets us apart from all of the other creatures that God has created.  God has given man a free will that allows us to not react to everything from instinct or emotion but from intent.  This freedom we have from God has been, throughout the ages, something that we have tried to take away from one another.

Looking clean and being clean are two entirely different things.  Have you ever heard someone instructed to clean a place up and they only straighten it up?  We spend a tremendous amount of effort, and times, trying to make things in our life look right rather than make them be right.
