A confrontation about infidelity in Alaska leads to 21-year-old Saria Barney Hildabrand, a combat medic, fatally shot. The husband, Zarrius Hildabrand, says he has no memory of what happened. He also claims the death was self-inflicted and he only hid her body because people would think he did it.

Hildabrand tells his mother over a jail call that he will have to get on the stand and "work his magic," but fails miserably to keep up his elaborate, unbelievable lie. Verdict at the end.
