It wasn’t that many years ago someone would say, “Hi, how are you doing?” Our typical response would be, “I’m fine, how are you?” I’m fine, I’m fine. Now someone says, “How are you doing?” What do we say? “I’m busy. I’m busy.” Simple living should be our goal, the complicated life is killing us.

It is amazing what has happened in the last 12 years, and how different technology has changed our lives. Think about the power and resource that is now in the palm of our hands. Technology was intended to give us infinite knowledge and entertain us while we "solve the world's problems". While technology can be a wonderful tool, we have become addicted to technology and disconnected from each other.

Most people won’t come right out and say it, but you’d better believe they’re thinking it. They’re not interested in committing their lives to Christ unless they observe attractive and consistent patterns of living in the Christians they know. Christians are to be good news before they share the good news.

If there is one emotion that I can't stand, it's probably frustration. I hate the feeling of being frustrated, knowing things could be so much better than they are, but nothing seems to be going in the right direction. If you turn on the news, it's easy to quickly become frustrated with the evenings headlines. So the question is, how should we be dealing with frustration when it appears in our lives and what are our frustrations telling us?

In our world today, it is easy not to care isn't it? In fact, this has even become a joke in our society, almost to the point that we celebrate our lack of caring. God created us for so much more than to slip through life in an apathetic fashion.

This week we're going to take a look at Prisons. Naturally, your mind likely went to being locked in a physical prisons, but more than those, I want to talk about the prisons we put ourselves into.

Once again we stop to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in the United States. But as we celebrate we must also take time to stop and take an honest look at what is taking place in our country.

Have you ever met those people, the ones who seem to rehash the past forever? The ones who seem to live in their memories more than in the present? The ones who can’t seem to get past some issue, some hang-up, some roadblock in their past? As if they are still chained to something years ago.
