Paul Has Fun

Episode#58

I did a search online for Tim Ferriss’ recommended books.   One of these books was ‘Vagabonding’ by Rolf Potts.

The subtitle for the book, ‘An Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long-Term World Travel'.   In reading the book I interpreted that as travelling the world on the cheap.   The author presents it as being very doable.   I find it very romantic and would love to travel a part of the world at some time in my life, Asia would be my destination of choice.

Episode#57 'Hola Primavera' in Spanish means 'hello spring.'

The season is here, the precursor to the summer. The excitement made me put this together! This mix is a little combination of some of my favorite funk, soul, r&b songs from the last seven years.

I saw the original Beauty and the Beast on VHS while I was living in Washington Heights. I was in my late teens. I remember the movie bringing me to tears. I'm a sap for romance. I saw this movie with my friend Kathy. I reviewed Fantastic Beasts and La La Land with her. She is a super fan of Beauty and the Beast. She knows the songs, has seen the show on Broadway. Kathy owns an autographed t-shirt signed by the central cast of the play. I was more excited by her enthusiasm to see the movie. We anticipated and planned seeing the film late 2016.

The Marvel Netflix series haven’t always hit with me.   I very much enjoyed Daredevil season 1, maybe because it was a new style of telling a comic book story, on a v.o.d. channel.   With violence and action.    Since then I’ve enjoyed Daredevil season 2, didn’t care for Jessica Jones, and struggled to finish Luke Cage.

With Jessica Jones, I watched the first and last episode and felt I didn’t need to watch anymore.   I looked at some of Luke Cage, dropped it for awhile, then went back and finished it.   With Daredevil season 2, I committed to most of the season and finally finished the whole thing months later.

I’ve heard other TV critics say these particular shows would greatly benefit from being a 6-8 episode season, I wholeheartedly agree.

There's a particular type of John Legend song which I enjoy. Those tracks in which he sings over hip hop beats. This mixtape is a collection of some of those songs. There are some other more r-n-b style tunes, which I think are great and are included.
