Today we are going to ask God to help us pray. He promises to do this with the help of the Holy Spirit within us. Scriptures are shared from Romans 8 about our inward groans and the groans of intercession from the Holy Spirit. You are led in prayer asking for the Holy Spirit to intercede for you as scripture promises. Exercises include breathing, a simple prayer to God, quieting yourself, and waiting while the Holy Spirit intercedes for you. Jeremiah 29:13 is a well known verse. But it says something that is a little confusing. It says "you will seek me and find me when you search for me wth all of your heart." Do you see it? We have to search in order to seek and find? Isn't searching and seeking the same thing? Not here. These are 2 different words. This episode flushes out the differences and paints some word pictures that help you understand the promise of seeking and finding God. We are 22 days past Easter. Where is Jesus? What is He doing? How does that apply to our day and time? I reflect on the last public event that I attended in NY on March 14th and the word God dropped into my spirit as I asked the question the speaker told us to ask God. Having no idea what would be happening after, the context of his answer of "trust" hits home. The Coronavirus is upending our world and it is critical to trust in God for many things right now. Time is short. We are a flower that fades. We need God to teach us how to number our days, to apply our hearts to wisdom! These are words from Psalm 90:12 and make up our prayer cry today. Wisdom here is defined as a skill used in war, wisdom in administration, shrewdness that manifests as wisdom, prudence in religious affairs, wisdom in an ethical way, religious discernment. Today is a simple exercise of proclaiming who God is to you from A-Z. This is a guided, interactive exercise.
