  • Music Monday: He Knows My Name Podcast Edition
For the next few weeks. Our church is in a stewardship campaign. And it’s not all about money. We are also talking about our stewardship of time, and how we use it to serve others, particularly those who really need help.
Yesterday in our services here at the church, John Buckley, one of our members who is part of our Methodist Mens group spoke about our involvement and support of Parkview Mission. And I had the opportunity to record him for our online service that aired yesterday, and is still online btw.
John is very committed to Parkview, and it was quite evident in his thoughts he shared. While I was editing, the song He Knows My Name came to me. It was, I believe, a reminder from God that regardless of who we are or where we are, He knows our names - he sees us when each tear falls. He knows because we are his children.

Let’s begin with our song, He’s got the whole world in his hands.

    From Pastor Joe:
    Serving Fellowshipping Music Good Worship.
Those are some of the responses that I’ve heard when I asked Peakland church leaders this question:, When it comes to church life and the things we do at Peakland, what is it you are most passionate about: I’m taking all the responses and putting them on a bulletin board in the church hallway so that we can share with each other what we are most passionate about here at our church.

  • Wesley Wednesday: United Methodist Beliefs, Week 4 Podcast Edition
    From Pastor Dave:
Today I begin by saying that I am proud to be a United Methodist. I am committed to our beliefs, doctrines, and practice of ministry. I have no desire whatsoever to consider leaving the denomination I love and have been privileged to serve since 1978.
Over the past few weeks I have shared some of the basic Christian beliefs which are the foundation of the United Methodist Church. Part three of the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church contains the Doctrinal Standards and our Theological Task. This along with the section entitled “A Brief History of the United Methodist Church” are central in understanding who we are as United Methodist. In my opinion these 100 pages should be required reading for each of us.

  • This Day: October 18, 2022 Podcast Edition
    From Pastor Joe:
For today’s devotion I’m again using This Day, A Wesleyan Way of Prayer, created by Rev Larry Stookey, a United Methodist pastor and worship professor at Wesley Theological seminary. This is the prayer book that I use most days for my morning devotion.
We have a blend of scriptures and guided prayers.

  • Music Monday: The Lord's Prayer Podcast Edition
    From Linwood:
This has been the season for Memorial Services and Funerals. You may remember last week I played Goodbye World, Goodbye for you as a tribute to Bill Nash.
This week, is another tribute, but this time by the daughter of one of our members who has claimed the promise. Hill McDaniel was a longtime member of Peakland and we celebrated his life this past Friday, here at the church. The music was quite different, though. Hill’s daughter, Mary Margaret has a lovely voice, and we all knew Hill would have loved to have her sing at his service. We knew that just would to be possible, so I brought her into our studio and recorded her singing The Lord’s Prayer, which we played at his service.
I felt like this would be yet another fitting song for our Music Monday’s.
