DId you watch the Kentucky Derby?

Being horse people, Derby Day is a pretty special day for us.

Kathie will make “Hot Browns” to eat while we wait for the race to start.

We’re not drinkers at our house so the mint julep might be Apple cider.

And we like to get the back stories on the horses that are competing.

The back story for this year’s winner - Rich Strike - is inspiring.

Have you ever been so far outside the norm that you felt like, or someone might have suggested, you were a crackpot?

You know, in the process of trying to find a solution to a problem, your idea was just silly; like, let’s put a boot on the truck every night so no one can steal it?

I think crackpot might be akin to what we southerners call cockamamie. When someone does something; like, getting a tattoo of a woman's name who isn’t your mother, that might be a cockamamie idea.

Having said this, here’s a story you might have heard before:
