On the anniversary of Harry Potter’s release, both JK Rowling and Pedro Pascal are in the news—not for their work, but their opposing convictions. Rowling has been “vociferously castigated” for defending biological sex; Pascal, in support of his transgender sibling, called her a “heinous loser.” As our nation’s culture continues to shift away from the “morals and religion” of our founding fathers, we remember that the gospel has thrived most fully across Christian history when the culture has been most antagonistic to its truth.
