What is the true meaning of "recovery"? Often we think of it being about addiction. Is it really about the addiction or is is something more?

In this short episode I talk about that very question. The idea that becomming more than you were is a process of life. Change is moving forward and to do that we need to learn to shed the past in favor of the present.

As America Celebrates Thanksgiving I want to share a little about my Thankfulness after 17 years of working recovery. I'll talk of how it all started with a loss (as did my addictive nature) and how things were for those first 4 years. I will also share a little about how, after 4 years my recovery took a different path than I could have plannned. How Thankfulness for me is not just about the good things in life. They are also for things percieved as bad in life.

Today was going to be a conversation with Our Kenyan Leader and long time friend Jajah, However what is reality for some countries became the focus. We who live in countries with reliable systems for our electricity, Phones and such can be thankful as Kenya and other countries don't have as easy a time as most. These comforts can go out without warning. 

Teressa and I discuss this as we look to be thankful for things often taken for granted. As you listen consider being greatful for the simple things in life especialy what we have gained as a result of our recovery each day.

Expanding on the idea of foundations in life a discussion of the foundation as it is when solid vs when 1 or more parts of the foudation are out of sorts. Willingness leads to Honsty allowing for an open mind. It is upon the foundation that life is built. Bringing Mental, Physical and spiritual aspects of life together is key to living life in recovery. Recovery is not perfection rather it is woking on being better daily.
