In this episode, I am joined by Kai Van Kool. Kai is an elite swimmer on the Gold Coast. He is so incredibly strong, and someone that I have so much respect for. Kai is very open and vulnerable particularly when it comes to his experiences with mental health. He shares so many important messages in this chat. Kai is confident in his abilities and is excited for what’s to come in his swimming career. I was in awe when chatting with Kai and struck a chord with me. This is a chat not to be missed!

In this episode, I am joined by Patrick Fisher who is from P3 Performance Psychology. Their mission is to bridge the gap between knowledge and practice by providing effective evidence-based interventions combined with 12 years of experience in elite sport to help athletes, coaches, teams, and sporting organisations reach their potential.Â
Pat shares so much insight into the mental side of sport and mental health in general. He is able to shed a light on various topics that can be deemed as taboo and trying to break down that stigma. We discuss emotions and how they are neither good nor bad, just that there is a full spectrum that only makes us human. Pat also provides some tips and advice on how to be 'mentally healthy' and being prepared for a race or any sporting event. Being prepared and proactive is key!
There are so many amazing things to unpack in this episode, I highly recommend listening and checking out P3 Performance Psychology and Patrick Fisher

In this episode, it's all about a fundraising event that I am doing! The event is called Laps for Life. It is for the month of March where you swim and track how many laps you do to raise money for the charity Reach Out, supporting young people struggling with mental health. I provide some background information about the cause and the charity itself. As you know this podcast is focused on both mental health and sport and this fundraiser encapsulates both!
