On this latest edition of Tunnel Vision USCFootball.com's, Ryan Abraham, RJ Abeytia and Ahmad Akkaoui are back in studio breaking down what they saw Friday night in the Coliseum, with USC taking down Fresno State 39-0 in dominating fashion. Head coach Lincoln Riley had his troops ready, with the team looking much better Friday night in the Coliseum than we saw just six days earlier in the opener against San Jose State. The guys take a look at how the team performed in all three phases of the game, from Jayden Maiava's extremely efficient effort to new defensive coordinator Gary Patterson pitching his first shutout as a Trojan. While the Trojans did dominate the game from start to finish, there were still areas where the Men of Troy could improve. The running game got off to a slow start and that will need to get going for this team to reach its lofty goals. Defensively there are still more opportunities for plays to be made in passing coverage and there were actually a couple of penalties on special teams that Mike Ekeler is likely unhappy with. The Helium Boys, Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino, are back behind the microphones for another in-season episode for the 2026 USC football campaign. They're blind ranking, investing stocks, taking or leaving and answering your questions as they break down USC's 39-0 shutout of Fresno State and preview the upcoming matchup with Louisiana and a quarterback named Lunch. The podcasting duo opens with the Two-Minute Drill where Shotgun discusses the all the college football he enjoyed watching over Labor Day weekend thanks to USC hosting Fresno State on Friday rather than the traditional Saturday. Chris discusses the national landscape of the sport by unveiling his hate watch rankings of teams that pull him into the TV screen like a moth to a flame. The boys of Helium jump into prior comments and corrections before breaking down the Trojans' dominant victory against former assistant Matt Entz and discussing which players/units/themes saw their stock rise or fall. They also preview the upcoming Friday night matchup with Louisiana and Lunch Winfield. After a break, Shotgun takes on Trevino's Take It or Leave It segment before the show concludes with an Overtime period of blind ranking hats Lincoln Riley could try for a new look on the sideline after giving away his visor after Friday's shutout victory.

The Helium Boys, Shotgun Spratling and Chris Trevino, are back behind the microphones breaking down the latest USC contest after the Trojans completed their non-conference schedule, improving to 3-0 on the season with a 49-30 victory over Louisiana late Saturday night in the Los Angeles Coliseum. They also preview the USC's upcoming matchup where it will travel across the country to take on Rutgers. The podcasting duo opens with the Two-Minute Drill where Chris discusses being ready to move forward to Big Ten play while Shotgun talks about how the youngest and oldest people on the roster are the ones leading the Trojans to a 3-0 record so far. The boys of Helium jump into listener comments and corrections before breaking down the Trojans' up-and-down victory over the Ragin' Cajuns -- one where there was a clear separation between what USC's starters and reserves are capable of at this point. They talk about the shining freshmen while some veterans are lagging behind expectations. Shotgun and Chris then, after a break, take a look forward at USC traveling to the birthplace of college football for the upcoming matchup with Rutgers and an 0-2 Scarlet Knights team that hasn't looked good but has one of the nation's top performers so far this season in wide receiver KJ Duff. To close out the show, Shotgun takes on Trevino's Take It or Leave It segment before an Overtime period of New Jersey-themed Take It or Leave Its and then a surprise Double Overtime quiz show period where Shotgun must name creations that ultimately killed their creator.

In this edition of the Peristyle Podcast hosts Ryan Abraham, RJ Abeytia and Makena Arteaga are back in studio talking about USC getting its first shutout of the season, blanking Matt Entz's Fresno State squad 39-0 Friday night in the Coliseum. They also discuss what has been going on within the program this week as they get ready for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, with the possibility of defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart getting on the field for the first time this season. The Trojans win over the Bulldogs was much cleaner than the opening effort against the Spartans, and the crew talks about what they liked and where they would like to see some improvement. Jayden Maiava was spectacular with only two incompletions, two freshmen wide receivers went over 100 yards receiving and of course Gary Patterson got his first shutout as USC's defensive coordinator. However, the running game was hit and miss against that Fresno State defensive front and special teams units had a couple of penalties and sent only 10 men out on a PAT attempt. This week we heard from Lincoln Riley and several freshmen that talked about getting their first action on the college stage. Trent Mosley has been an absolute star and the crew gives their thoughts on what the true freshman receiver had to say. They also look ahead to the Louisiana game and give their thoughts on what challenges the Trojans could face and what steps they can take to get everyone ready for conference play.
