Maxwell made his film debut in “Grease 2” in 1982 and on ABC television, the role he’s best known for is “Miles” in “Dynasty” spin-off “The Colbys”. He has a number of film and television credits as well as extensive stage work including “Chicago” and “The Elephant Man”. Maxwell is currently starring in the one-man play, “Pilate: The Lost Gospel” this summer at the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland. He talks about his life, his marriage, and playing Pontius Pilate.

Congressman Moore started his career as a welder in a mining operation, and later went on to earn degrees from George Mason University and the National Defense University. Aaron’s film and television credits include, “The Wolf of Wall Street”, and “J.Edgar”, and recent television appearances include CBS’ “The Equalizer”, and “Yellowstone”. Aaron has starred on Broadway 11 times from his debut in “The Phantom of the Opera” to “A Little Night Music”, “The Light in the Piazza” and the first revival of “Les Miserables”. Since January of 2022, Aaron has been in the fight of his life against ALS, a neurological disease also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, that progressively steals a person’s ability to walk, speak, eat, use their hands and breath on their own. Aaron made a decision “not to live afraid” and instead has focused on healing himself emotionally, spiritually and also physically. He talks about his life, his career, fatherhood, his faith, and living with ALS.

In this episode of Personally Speaking, Msgr. Jim Lisante is joined by Fr. Rich Conlin. Fr. Rich is a Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, British Columbia. Before answering his call to the priesthood, Fr. Rich was an NCAA Division 1 competitive golfer for St. Mary’s College of California, and he also worked as an accountant. His mother asked him to go to Confession for her birthday, something he hadn’t done in five years. Fr. Rich says it was there his life changed forever. His faith began to grow through daily Mass and frequent reconciliation and he decided to give his life to God. Fr. Rich Conlin talks about his life, his Catholic faith, and going from golf into the priesthood.

In this episode of Personally Speaking, Msgr. Jim Lisante is joined by Msgr. James Kelly. Msgr. Kelly is a priest from the Diocese of Brooklyn. Born in County Limerick, Ireland, he trained for the priesthood at the Irish College in Rome where he was ordained in 1960. That same year he arrived at St. Brigid’s Church in what is now Bushwick in Brooklyn, NY. In 1977 he was installed as pastor and spent nearly four decades transforming the parish with practical compassion. Msgr. Kelly recognized the growing legal needs of immigrants, who were mostly low-income residents, and he earned a law degree from St. John’s University in 1980. He went on to offer free legal counsel and assistance, particularly in immigration matters.

In this episode of Personally Speaking, Msgr. Jim Lisante is joined by Conor McDonald. Conor is an NYPD captain and the son of NYPD hero Detective Steven McDonald. Twenty nine year old Detective McDonald was shot and paralyzed from the neck down in 1986 by a 15 year old teenager who was stealing a bike in Central Park. Despite his injuries, Detective McDonald went on to publicly forgive the teenager. Conor talks about his father’s life, his message of forgiveness, the Catholic faith that gave him the courage to forgive, and what that message means for all of us.

Elijah stars in the critically acclaimed series “The Chosen” portraying the calculating Roman magistrate Atticus. He’s a graduate of The Yale School of Drama and has decades of experience in film, television and on stage. He has also recently joined the cast of the upcoming biblical film “Daniel: The Fiery Furnace” portraying King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon which will release in U.S. theaters nationwide in September. Elijah was born to an Egyptian/Israeli Jewish father and an Irish/Welsh Lutheran mother. He speaks about how his journey of faith unfolded while filming “The Chosen” last year and he was baptized on the set.
