Put Into Words

Personas

Listen Later

In this episode George and Engrid unpack this idea of embodying a persona. There are many terms for this idea: sending up a representative, wearing a mask, code-switch, shape shift, chameleon, or the "space suit" self as Tara Brach calls it. Brene Brown refers to it as wearing armor. In this conversation the gals discuss how and why this happens, as well as the risks of living as a persona.
