Generally, we are very aware of our areas of weakness. Whatever it is--lust, greed, anger, consumption--we know if we are especially prone to fall in that area. One of the best defenses against falling is to stay away from places, activities, or people that lead us towards those areas. As Pastor Mark points out in this teaching, on the night of Jesus’ arrest, Peter ended up in a place he should not have been. Although Jesus warned him, Peter foolishly thought he could handle it, leading to his infamous 3-part denial of Christ.
