So thankful to be celebrating my 50th birthday and my 1 year podcast anniversary! What a year it’s been filled with the challenges of the pandemic, racial uprising and so much more. I've been quiet about the killing of Daunte Wright because there is nothing new to say. All I have to hold on to is hope, as hard as it is, I encourage you to do the same. There are donations being raised for his girlfriend and son. There is bail money needed for protesters on the ground there. So what you feel led to do because as I always say #wecanalldosomething

These are my Yaya sisters of 9 years now. There is something really special about doing friendship and life with a group of women.

Lacie: 14 years as an Executive Admin at Kellogg’s & 20 years as a volunteer Chaplain for women’s prisons ministry using her own finances to bless the women while serving their terms and supporting them after their release. Single, mother of 2 grown children and grandmother of 2.

Cathy: 14 years at McDonald's Corporation, starting in HR and now in commercial litigation in the legal department. Cat is extremely passionate about missions work and Mozambique has a special place in her heart, having been there 5 times. She is a single mother of 1 adult child with a grandchild coming this summer.

Tina: Has worked for 33 & 1/2 years total for Illinois Government from States Attorney’s office, Chicago Mayor's office, Chicago Police Department, Chicago Family & Support Services. She is about to retire soon and hopefully will turn her amazing culinary skills as cook and a baker into a new business. Married for 13 years with 2 adult kids and 2 grandkids.

***Wellness Wednesdays because it covers the whole self being well from emotional, physical, mental, spiritual. We sometimes focus just on 11-2 parts of our lives for wellness, but we have to look to be well as a whole.

   3. Carla from Chicago - What’s in store for year 2 of the podcast?

***I'm finalizing that but what most likely will change is the themes and the frequency will probably go from weekly to biweekly. 

  4.  Ebony from Nashville - What’s the birthday plan for your 50th?

***I'll be celebrating in my hometown of Chicago. Not sure all the details yet but it will be a weekend of celebrating with a small group.

  5.  Erika from Los Angeles - What’s on 3 things your bucket list for the next decade in your 50s?

*** A) Traveling the world. I'd like to experience all 195 countries.  B) I'd like to build a legacy in the form of a physical building and a foundation. C) Charter a private jet with my inner circle.

Doug Hayes has always had a mindset of entrepreneurship and wealth building. He started his first business (a community newspaper called “Doug’s Monthly”) at 12 years old. Having always shown an interest with numbers and budgetary management, Doug pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Howard University, graduating in 1996. By the age of 23, he bought his first house and by 25 he was running his own successful limousine and sedan service in the Detroit, MI area.

Doug invested in more real estate beginning in 2006, then in 2008 he saw many good companies substantially undervalued in the stock market because of the financial crisis. It was absolute panic so he took a chance on a few companies, knowing we would eventually come out of the recession and made a profit. He educated himself on investing in the stock market through continuous research and surrounding himself with other traders. He took control of his own 401K and established an IRA account by transferring old 401K’s into it. This gave him flexibility to use various strategies to yield better returns.

Doug's own finances have seen highs and lows so he designed a budget system he calls The Roadmap to Financial Freedom. This system helped him to stay focused in paying down debt, saving money, and planning for an early retirement.

Seeing an absence of financial literacy in our society coupled with his Christian roots, Doug developed a passion for helping others become successful in financial management. Through the experience he’s gained trading the stock market, he wants to help people develop a road map for building generational wealth. He says "many people have a misconception of the stock market because of their lack of knowledge, but it has proven to be the biggest wealth creator known to man." With Doug’s 20-plus years of experience in financial management, customer service and sales, he wants to educate and help people create a legacy that can be passed down for generations to come.

Martine Harris is the President and Co-Founder of the non profit, Travel & GIVE, and Author of Dear Haiti, You’re Not  Who They Think You Are.

Since 2017, Martine has been recruiting volunteers to support  teachers in schools and provide hands-on-therapy for children  in orphanages presenting with congenital, physical, cognitive,  and mental disabilities in Haiti. Travel & GIVE has recently

expanded to Nairobi, Kenya.

In January of 2020, Martine released her first book, Dear Haiti,  You’re Not Who They Think You Are, which is a compilation of  her journal entries documenting her journey through the  awkward, controversial, humorous, and catastrophic events  while living in Haiti.

Martine currently lives in Los Angeles, California where she  works as a Speech and Language Pathologist. Dr. Dawn Gullette Crosson is a native of Philadelphia, PA and completed her undergrad and  master’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA. She later obtained  a second masters and a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College  of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a licensed Psychologist, trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and is a certified trauma therapist and has been in the field of psychology since 1996. Dr.  Dawn has a vast array of experience within human services and working with at-risk children  and youth. She is a noted trainer and has taught post-secondary collegiate classes at Penn State  University, Phoenix University and Messiah College. She has provided trainings for Dauphin  County for over 10 years on topics focusing on understanding the mental health disorders of the  populations most served. Dr. Dawn is currently the sole proprietor of an outpatient office, Petra  Psychological Services, LLC and the clinical director and founder of the Harrisburg Area  Learning Academy, Inc. an Intensive Family Based Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior  Therapy Program in Dauphin County. She also serves on the Adverse Childhood Experiences  (A.C.E.) Executive Committee providing trauma informed training to agencies and the community throughout the county of Dauphin.

Charlotte was born and raised in Pittsburgh to a family of die-hard Steelers fans. She attended her first Steelers game at 10 years old, and little did she know that it would be the beginning of a life-long involvement with the sport.

She stayed in Pittsburgh for college, attending the University of Pittsburgh. There she met Craig “Ironhead” Heyward, a star running back at Pitt who would go on to play in the NFL for 11 years.

The couple lived in five cities, eventually settling in Atlanta to raise their sons -- Cameron, Corey, and Connor. Charlotte developed a love for real estate as a result of their moves, and became a Realtor in 2002.

Real estate wasn’t her only job. She also spent countless hours as a certified “sports mom,” taking her sons to practices, games, tournaments, and college visits.

Her oldest, Cameron, eventually went on to play football at The Ohio State University. In 2011, he was selected in the first round of the NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Her middle son, Corey, played basketball at Georgia Tech, graduating with a degree in Business.

Her youngest, Connor, currently plays football at Michigan State University.

She also has a daughter, Meagan Henderson, whom she adopted and raised as her own. Meagan graduated from Elon University, with a degree in digital marketing, where she ran track and was in the top eight in her conference in the hurdles.

In 2015, Charlotte and Cameron were able to turn one of their biggest passions--giving back to the community--into The Cameron Heyward Foundation, aka The Heyward House. Charlotte serves as the Foundation’s Executive Director.

The foundation strives to positively impact underserved youth and families in the Pittsburgh region. From literacy initiatives to scholarships to Craig’s Closet, which provides free dress clothes to teenage boys, Charlotte and Cameron want to make sure that as many children as possible feel like they have someone in their corner rooting for them.

2021 marks the launch of 3DSportz, a consulting firm that focuses on giving athletes and parents the tools at the high school, college and professional level from navigating recruitment to being well-rounded and successful in sports and life.
