PEG Interview Kansas Hip Hop Artist Alex Celeste

Bio

My name is  Alex Celeste, I was born in San Diego, and raised both there and in Wichita, Kansas where I am currently based.

I love producing pop and hip hop. I first started writing lyrics after I quit grad school to pursue my music career. I realized how powerful it was for someone just to be able to identify and verbalize their adversity. A personal feeling suddenly becomes real, systemic, and institutionally recognized only after someone has taken the time to define their struggle in their own words. This is why I wanted to create music, to inspire others, express myself, and bring issues in women’s lives to the forefront that aren’t usually circulated, or respected in hip hop culture.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have a strong growing fanbase on Spotify through a couple of major playlists, “Best Music 2020” and “World On Fire”. Now, I’m excited for what’s to come even during the COVID Pandemic, for my latest release “Fun” that will be releasing August 21st.

PEG interviews UK Urban Artist EFFY LOWAN

Fusing creative intent with absolute unwavering realism, the UK’s EFFY LOWAN is an urban artist with a refreshing air of truth to her sound.  Showcasing the struggles of contemporary life, blending elements of Alternative with Rap and R&B, EFFY’s debut brings her first single ‘Lets Go Back’ which has been described as “A snapshot of a diary page from an artist who cherishes honesty”. She is currently working on other projects, which will follow her debut, taking a gentler vocal approach.

Inspired by Sam Tomkins, Amy Winehouse and NF, EFFY’s understanding of the industry runs as deep as her talent for expressing the inexpressible. From working with the renowned writers and producers behind J-Lo and Celine Dion, to co-writing the single ‘Only Want You Naked’ with Christopher Ellis which was released back in 2019 on Damian Marley’s label ‘Ghetto Youths International’, her hard work has forged the way for an exciting journey ahead.

With a new merch line in the works and collaborations underway with rappers and producers from around the globe, expect no signs of slowing down. Intent on raising awareness about mental health, her goal is to help related charities across the UK by donating profits from her merch line and live performances. Music is her saving grace, her method of repairing the damage of the past and her songs emerge to offer the same kind of solace and healing to her audience.

PEG Interviews XOPlasma

BIO:

XOPlasma founding foursome Johan Bejerholm (lead vocals / keyboards / guitar), Johan Fleetwood (lead guitar / vocals), Lars Kalthoff (drums) and Roland Svensson (bass guitar) joined forces in 2018, some 30 years after having dissolved the promising 80’s band ’Plasma’, who reached the finals of the 1982 nationwide televised Swedish battle of the bands - ’Rock-SM’. The competition was won by now world-renowned band Europe, with ’Plasma’ finishing as runner-up #3.
XOPlasma songs are inspired by what made the 80’s great. Lyrics with a twist, melodies with a punch and coolness in a modern Indie sound. The first album ’New Bold Dream’ was released in June 2019.
Some comments within the first few hours of the album’s release: ’Awesome! Better than most stuff released today!’ ’Fantastic! Looking forward to seeing this band live!’ ’Wonderful music! Rock’n’Roll! Super thumbs up!’ ’Brings me back to the greatness of the 80’s again!’
Our new single 'Stuck' (released in May 2020) is a song with strong melodies and lyrics, energy and passion. Indie rock at its best!
All songs are composed and authored by XOPlasma, and mixed/mastered by Johan Bejerholm at World Studios, Sweden.

We are inspired by many of the bands from the 80s like Simple Minds, Japan and Ultravox but also new bands as Muse and Coldplay.

We are currently working on a full album, which will be released in this forthcoming summer “Letters from the future”. The first song from this album is “Time of our lives”. After that “Out of Miles” and “Stuck” was released in April and May 2020.

Our singer and producer is a professional producer, mixer and composer who has been behind a few songs in the Eurovision song contest and his work has been sold and streamed billions of time. ”Bonbon” with Era Istrefi has been played more than 100 million times on Spotify and 700 million times on Youtube as one example. As CEO of World Studios in Lomma, Sweden for thirty years running, he has been producing and writing for countless artists including “Michael Learns to Rock” and “Arash”.
