In the spring of 2020, a box arrived on my doorstep containing a lavender journal that someone named Jack had given me 18 years earlier. It was just one of many signs prompting me to get in touch with him. I thought I was being told to wrap up my loose ends, because Covid was rampant here. He lived in a place that had not seen a single case. A week after we reconnected, I went running and for hours afterward, I couldn't catch my breath. The next morning, I found out Jack had died within those same hours the day before.

Ten days later, I had my first ever reading with a medium. Among the evidence she shared of Jack's continued existence, she said, "He's showing me a lavender journal. He says to keep writing to him in it. He says he'll be reading every word."

This experience opened up a doorway that filled my life with magic. My spiritual awakening, and my experience as a writer, photographer, and podcaster, has given me the opportunity to share what I've come to learn about:

- How to create community in the midst of a spiritual awakening.

- How to see grief as a gift with he power to transform our lives if we allow ourselves to sit in it and uncover all the painful truths that are waiting to present themselves to us.

Linda Balliro, BM, New England Conservatory, MSC Applied Neuroscience, Kings College ( expected December 2023). Associate Professor of Voice, Berklee College of Music.  After a 20 year career as a classical singer, Ms. Balliro trained to become a voice teacher, teaching all ages, including nationally touring artists, young professionals and teens.  Her book, "Being A Singer: the Art, Craft and Science" (CRP, 2019) has been a bestseller on Amazon and is widely used by singers and voice teachers worldwide. She is also a contributing author on a collaborative book "The Creative Lifebook" published in April 2023. Her work in neuroscience evolved from the study of how singing cognition works and how the primary function of sensory awareness can be applied to all aspects of life, including aapersonal growth, mental health and productivity. Ms. Balliro is also managing the young artist, Oveante, pianist and singer.

Be Your Incredible Self (BYIS) best describes Ms. Garcia’s tenacious attitude towards empowering others. Garcia, over the past 35 years has navigated through domestic violence, privacy, safety, vulnerability, and the mindset to endure personal adverse events in life. 

Her survival of a double attempted homicide while 8 months pregnant (by the father) and the desperation to survive became the catalyst to the foundation of BYIS while achieving an undisputed outlook of independence.  During her journey to overcome, Garcia learned that extreme independence is a trauma driven response and a natural one which can be defeated through focused, self awareness and intentional control.

Through her own walk, harsh lessons brought on by extreme independence resulted in areas of her life being sabotaged repeatedly.  Her personal journey of post traumatic growth has led Garcia to dedicating her life in developing transformational programs, various forms of coaching, certification courses and establishing a nonprofit to help real time victims. Her commitment is to provide lifelong transformational habits that can restore your powerful internal sense of control. One of her personal statements, ‘You don’t live anywhere but in your head’  is why some of her laser focus teachings are on aligning your mental and emotional belief system.

As her passion grew from her own personal struggles, Garcia became active within the community receiving a Mayoral appointment to work with the Citizen Review board in direct conjunction with Internal Affairs.  She received hands-on training from the Sheriff’s department, Department of Homeland Security, and FEMA which also led to the Infrastructure Liaison Officer designation (ILO), through the local Law Enforcement Center.

Garcia has spent more than 20 years in the corporate world holding positions in Office Administration, Project Management, Compliance, Policy writing, Team building, Training, Leadership and Consulting. She continued to serve other organizations including the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), Board of Directors, and holds a current membership in the FBI vetted private sector program of InfraGard. As VP of a Security Consultant Company, she has developed programs with leadership responsible for security and emergency management. These emphasize awareness toward identifying different stages of human behavior leading towards violence mitigation.

While working, attending school, and raising her kids as a single parent, her personal priorities of housing, safety and privacy for her children were of utmost importance. This required Garcia to navigate through various self-help centers, state, city, local programs, systems and assistance to create a stable foundation for her family while providing the ability to assist others. She also volunteers and collaborates with local law writer(s), in support of bills under Public Safety.

Garcia believes in the need to feel loved, wanted, and cared for as a part of life in all of us. Living through emotional tugs of war and learning to apply a controlled healthy mindset to overcome voids, shortcomings, and to break unhealthy cycles is who she is today versus the opposite of where she came from. Today, she prides herself on meeting the daily challenges of being vulnerable and safe at the same time while empowering others to Be Your Incredible Self.

Garcia’s personal mission is to help lead others in transforming their survival of Domestic Violence (DV) into Post Traumatic Growth and to mitigate the depletion of resources for real time victims.

From a young age, I always wanted to be a novelist. I was always writing stories and daydreaming about things that could be. As an adult, I did not initially pursue this as a career because I wanted to build a family, and I thought it was not feasible economically. Instead, I wrote website content and translated documents into English from multiple foreign languages. More recently, I built a successful digital marketing agency with my wife Alcione. In that agency, we have helped numerous entrepreneurs to each sell millions of dollars in info products. How do you battle burnout?

Biography

Diana's life of creative exploration began when she was 13. Her family relocated from Moldova to Bloomfield, New Jersey and she enrolled in an art class. Through her difficult teenage years, she found solace in expressing herself through creating art. Her BFA degree at Cornell University was followed by a MS at Boston University, where she continued to develop a unique free-flowing painting style. After graduation, she managed the world-renowned DTR Modern Galleries. She subsequently founded The Plein-Air Art Academy, and received a Best of Boston Award for kids' art classes. 

She published a highly acclaimed novel about the importance of art for our psyche, and in recent years has presented a TedX talk on using creativity to fight burnout, appeared as a guest on multiple podcasts, wrote a children’s book, founded a clothing line based on her art, and exhibited her work at the 2022 Venice Biennale. She lives in the Boston area but her pieces are in corporate and private collections worldwide,and she uses her expertise in her proprietary flow processes as a consultant in creative corporate workshops and talks.
