Phlogiston: idiosyncratic and out of context

For three hundred years most Christians did not believe the Nicene creed and you don't have to believe anything in that document to be a Christian. There is less room to move within Islam and you might want to think about quitting.

Original sources from the Spanish Civil War-- my grandfather Irving Pflaum worked as a correspondent for UP (later UPI)-- show conclusively that a lot of what is taught as history includes a healthy dose of bunk.

The story of a dark not barking that lead to four lawsuits, threats, front page news, an infinite number of hearings in town hall. Who won the fight? Stay tuned for part two: the personalities, chicken war, and the dog signs. See sunshineonthehudson.com for evidence, audio and videos described in podcast.

Here in podcast 5 I get topical (current events) and talk about the Republican debate last night -- but in historical terms -- and about white supremacy.

History again. This time I cover guys that came out of nowhere to run countries in times of civil war. A regular schmo can be quite some tough customer. Also see sunshineonthehudson.com

More comedy. Is there a law against driving on a bucket instead of a chair?

This one is about history, judging the past, and going dancing. Also see sunshineonthehudson.com for a new blog entry on local government today as well and find me on facebook and soundcloud. Thanks.

On my blog http://sunshineonthehudson.com I report the scandal I call Sleepergate -- lawyers getting paid to sleep, billing the government 26 hours per day. And try to get the cops to arrest them? What a farce Columbia County, New York and maybe large swaths of America have become. I was also in Maroon at https://soundcloud.com/fresherthanthis/. In this the second episode of the Phlogiston podcast I explain what phlogiston is and why I picked it as a name for the podcast, sort of, then discuss why we teach history, or don't, and explain in passing why we live in a Christian culture (complete accident). I'll need 12 follow up podcasts to explain it more completely. My political blog is at http://sunshineonthehudson.com plus I was also in Maroon at https://soundcloud.com/fresherthanthis/ and there there was this album back in 2005: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/this-pound-of-flesh/id206699992
