Phoole and the Gang

Phoole has a cold and is on cold medicine, about which she’s very self-conscious, so she mentions it a thousand times. TWO tunes have something to do with TWELFTH NIGHT by Mr. Shkspr. - ‘Play On’ and ‘Opal.’ Phoole’s compromised state means she starts a bunch of stories and finishes very few of them, and talks over parts of the songs she meant to NOT talk over, but she doesn’t trainwreck, so that’s a win. Both Angelo the Cat AND Tony the Cat make appearances in the PhooleOut Shelter - as does the beautifully-healing Tiffany who is so cute that Phoole can’t look directly at her.

Most artists are obscure. Arbitrary mechanisms ensure you only learn about some artists and don’t learn about most artists. Phoole got you an Artist Oracle deck of cards at the gift shop for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and everybody gets some art history lessons, including Phoole herself - and one big lesson is that you have to make stuff, even if no one has heard of you, even if you think no one is paying attention or no one cares. The only way to waste you is to not use you. Leap all bounds and make stuff! Tough out the tech woes at the top of the show and enjoy. It’s worth it!

Phooligans are pretty amazing people. From the Phoole Patreon Platoon, who sustain and encourage the Phooliverse, to the tuner-inners, to the rewinders and replayers, to the music-makers, and everyone between, every Phooligan makes every Phoole & the Gang show groovier and happier and more full of funky love and absurd ridiculous fun times! The Aardvark shows off remix skills in the opening tune; The Lavish has kind words for Phoole; and Phoole offers to punch the promoter who snubbed Scott Diaz, because that was an affront to common human decency, that was. This week’s show contains helpful suggestions from Phooligans and will have to sustain you for two weeks, because Phoole will be gone next week, but hopes to be back the week after!

Phoole looks forward all week to two hours on Friday night when the Phooligans convene in the PhooleOut Shelter, otherwise known as Phoole & the Gang, the Kids’ Show for Adults that unites the Phooliverse for dancing and convivial good times. Phoole thinks it’s important for you to know that despite appearing relaxed and goofy, she’s actually terribly insecure and full of self-doubt - all of which *goes away* when she’s with the Gang. Thank you, Phooligans! Phoole reveals her allergies, talks about beekeeping, wins prizes, and plays songs you like, and it’s FUN AND NICE.

Phoole can’t broadcast via chew.tv because they have become terrible and dumb and awful and just don’t work anymore, so she’s on YouTube via http://phoole.rocks/youtube instead - and she’s so grateful that the Phooligans find her there and share the URL so everyone else can tune in too. And you DO! Thank you! Upbeat grooves, Angelo the Cat a’plenty, cheerful good vibes, and fantastic musicianship everywhere. Devoted Tuner-Inner Anna Haim had an important birthday - and in answering the birthday questions she says the best part of her last year was spending Friday nights with the #PhuluNation. YES PHOOLIGANS!

Phoole has a cold and feels wistfully nostalgic about MoFoMas - the holiday in the Phooliverse commemorating 7 February 2014, already four years gone, when she guested on ‘Friday Night Is Young Punx Night’ and it changed her LIFE. So the show is sprinkled liberally with tunes from that fateful playlist, along with other earhole treats and a suite of Smithee requests piled at the end. Angelo the Cat sleeps through 1 hour and 40 minutes of the show! SOOTHING BOOMS. We still don’t know what to do with a surfeit of booty - we really don’t even know what that is. But Phoole knows she’s so grateful for every Phooligan in the Gang!

Some new visuals from beeple make the Chewbsters in the chat at TheChewb.com agree that one of the loops looks like a colonoscopy - if the patient is made of stained-glass. Tiffany joins Phoole in the PhooleOut Shelter after weeks of...not, and she and Phoole reminisce about being in the grocery store last week and resisting the urge to buy an 8-foot-long cuddly toy caterpillar. A NEW FreakPower tune is previewed and dug heavily by all! And there’s a MUPPET MOMENT with an alien!

Phoole had a week of being super-sad - and by Thursday she felt so glum she thought she might not do a show on Friday. But a magical thing happened Friday morning - and she remembered the Phooliverse and your love and turned that frown UPSIDE-DOWN and here’s a show after all! And there’s puppets and EVERYTHING. The Chew.tv platform continues to deteriorate like Rome during a violin lesson, but Phooligans are unstoppable and tune in any way they can!

Phoole counts herself very fortunate to have received a lot of incredible compliments on Phoole & the Gang - but tonight, tuner-inner Danknug said, “This is like a kids’ show for adults,” and that feels like a Very Special Compliment Indeed! No playlist - it’s a #RandoSho, but it goes all over the place and everyone has a lot of fun! Tuner-inners demand outrageous tunes and it’s all for the best. Angelo the Cat makes a cameo, and Phoole plays imaginary rave pianos as FAST AS SHE CAN!
