Man, so many new cameras have been announced recently; and these are some pretty interesting bodies. Quite the buzz online these days about all this new gear… it can make one’s head spin. For me though, having all these new cameras announced so closely together; and with all the social media conversations, praising this or that feature, or complaining about what this or that camera doesn’t have; for me, in my mind I can still hear that quiet but very sound voice in the midst of all this noise… “It’s not about the gear.”

These days I know it’s so easy to share our photographs on Instagram; even when we get together with other photographers, we’re often sharing our work with each other via our screens; our phones; our tablets. I think this is another great reason to embrace printing your work and actually giving someone something tangible, that they can actually hold and look at (without the use of electricity).

These next shots were taken during my trip, heading south on 93. Hoover Dam and Willow Creek. Same camera, film and settings.
