PiCast Episode 120 - Fall Dapper Day 2019

We had a great Fall Dapper Day weekend this year. As you may know, we missed Fall Dapper Day last year because we are finalizing the Adoption of our son. We got a hotel near the park and spent the entire weekend celebrating. The weekend started out a little rocky as you’ll hear, but it was, over all, a fantastic time!

On Dapper Day itself, we attended a meetup put on by @blackgirldisney, @boundersofcolor, and @afrosandpixiedust. They chose a spot in Toon Town by Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin and the location was perfect. There was shade and a beautiful background of trees, plus a ton of wonderful people! We got to meet and take photos with many Instagrammers whom we have been following and made a bunch of new friends, too! This was probably one of the best meetups we’ve attended!

As for our outfits: Friday was casual. Saturday was Star Wars themed. Scott wore a Darth Vader (Anakin) Suit with a Red Tie by Opposuits and Brittany was in a Yellow and Gold Padme Amidala inspired ensemble. That would make Xander our little Luke! We were hoping for a little Leia to join our family, but we are still waiting on that call!

We were lucky enough to win tickets to the Oggie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure. We had a great time. The party starts at 6:00 and we got a ton of character meet and greet photos plus bags of treats. We dressed as Woody, Bo Peep, and Buzz for the party. A great time was had by all! This episode is about our day volunteering for Together We Rise, a fantastic organization that works with Foster kids. One of the things they do is take kids to Disneyland! We were part of 20 other teams chaperoning groups of 8-10 kids around the Happiest Place on Earth.
