PiCast Episode 13 - Road Trip

Right before Brittany leaves for Nashville with her sister and cousin we record an episode about Road Trips. This 12 day trip will be the longest we have been apart since we met 3 years ago!

What’s on the itinerary for the trip? The world’s second largest ball of twine? Is that on the way? They are heading through Phoenix, El Passo, Oklahoma City, and Branson on the way. Apparently, Branson shuts down from January to March. Brittany is excited about the Titanic museum in Branson and discuss the Titanic Expo in Buena Park.

In Nashville, Talk Like June will be competing in the Finals of the Texaco Country Showdown at the Ryman.

Next we discuss past road trips. Family trips across country, how to win at blackjack with just your uncle’s advice, the definition of a cheapskate gambler, cell phones vs. CB Radios, and sports and musical roadtrips

PiCast Episode 12 - The BroCast

While Brittany is on a road trip to Nashville, Jordan (@amazingJFan on twitter)  comes over for a little ”Bro” time.

Note: the sound quality is a little off on this episode. Sorry about that! Still working on the whole “multiple Mic issue”.

Anyway, we start the episode with a discussion of eSports and video games including a comparison of DOTA2 to the classic arcade game Elevator Action.

Then we end the episode with a discussion of the film “What We Do in the Shadows”. Imagine Jersey Shore, but in New Zealand… with Vampries!

PiCast Episode 11 - Los Angeles

Recorded on 12-12-15, Scott and Brittany talk about how tickets to see Kyle Clark (@KyleClarkIsRad on twitter) record his album turned into an all day LA adventure. Kyle signed the engagement photo for us that night!

The day started  with a follow up to the Eye Doctor and a trip to Cafe 50’s, a cool game store (Aero Hobbies & Games), and a record shop after that. Then we met Brittany’s sisters at Staples Center for dinner.

The parking gods were with us that day, but the zipper gods were not! Hey listeners, do you bring a spare set of clothes on a day trip… just in case?

The rest of the weekend included CPR class (watch the episode of the Office and you’ll know what we are talking about).

On sunday we went to Disneyland with friends and Scott forgot his phone! OMG!

PiCast Episode 9 - Pie and Eyes

Scott and Brittany are recording live from the new couch after returning home from Brittany’s eye procedure in LA and making two pies for Thanksgiving.

As the holidays wrap up, we discuss the difference between “Dressing” and “Stuffing” and recount some holiday traditions like making Tamales on Christmas eve. Have you ever gotten the SPECIAL tamale? Let us know on twitter or tumblr.

There is an interesting follow up to the “How we met” episode from our house/dog sitters Hannah and Corey (Shout out!).

Then we move on to our latest trip to Los Angeles. We had breakfast at the 50’s Cafe! Yummy food in a fun atmosphere. Menu items included Eggnog milkshakes and Blintzes. We discuss the difference between Hash Browns and Breakfast Potatoes.

We were in LA for an eye procedure for brittany called Collagen Cross Linking for Keratoconus. Dr. Wallace at LA Sight and his entire staff were awesome. The nicest doctor’s office staff we have ever been too. Keith, the tech that helped was a big Harry Potter fan and talked Brittany though by discussing Fantastic Beasts and where to find them.

Also we talk about the Culver City KFC/Taco Bell and the joys of eating a cold Bean and Cheese burrito while the world's loudest family shouts in the next hotel room.

Also our directions to LA sound more like an episode of the fake SNL soap opera “The Californians”. We also talk about Kyle Clark recording his CD in LA next week and getting the engagement photo signed.
