It’s completely inevitable- daycare germs. All those snotty, sick kids in one building…of course your child is going to catch it at the most inconvenient time.
While it’s almost like a right of passage, this episode we talk about how Mae got Hand Foot Mouth and what a stressor it has been. Taking time off work & keeping her entertained & happy. Building up our babies immune system is never easy!
You know what they say - it takes two to tango...aka make a baby...and we are celebrating our 30th episode milestone with our first DAD guest! Being a first time mom is no walk in the park, but what about all the daddy-o's out there?
We talk to Dan, who has a 3-month-old baby girl named Ella, and he tells us how he first reacted to his wife telling him she is pregnant, what his biggest mistake has been so far, and what makes him the best dad.
No two children react the same to discipline, you just have to find what works! I’m this episode we chat about what works for us and what we hope to get out of disciplining.
We also chat about our friends & family disciplining our child and how we feel about that. It can definitely be a tough situation, but communication is key!
Listen in and let us know what works best for YOUR family!
We’re baaaaaccckkkkk! Unfortunately, our Spanish is not any better but the memories made were unforgettable! Listen here for our post-Mexico updates.
Did Kaela cry? Who was nearly left in Mexico? You were stuck in Dallas for how long? All that and more in this episode!
Not your typical "What to expect when you're expecting" episode. We talk about all the things we had no idea about when pregnant with our first babies. From hair loss, to delivering a placenta, listen in to find out some of the things that surprised us!
We are off to Mexico for a "parents only" trip and it turns out, even when the kids aren't coming, there is still SO much to get ready for them!
Between daycare needs, their favorite shows and snacks, and morning and bedtime routines, there is a ton you have to make sure is set and organized before we leave!
Once all of the prep is done, and we are sitting on the beach with our toes in the Caribbean sand, it will be all worth it!
Stay tuned to see if Kaela actually only cries 3 times because she misses Maesyn...
We hit a pretty awesome milestone recently - WE HIT 2,000 downloads - and we are proud of ourselves dammit! Between both having full-time jobs, caring for our kids (and husbands to be fair), and just daily life, we are still trying to figure out how to run this passion project of ours!
This short and sweet episode gives us a chance to brag about ourselves which we are both not great at! Thanks to all of our listeners, followers, and fellow mamas out there just trying to make it all work!
First of all - big shoutout and thank you to ALL of the men and women serving or who have served in the military! You are all heroes and we appreciate your service!
There is also another member of the military that might not wear a camouflage uniform but is fighting battles behind the scenes - the military moms and dads!
On this episode, we talk to Ashlynn, a longtime friend of Kaela's whose husband is actively serving in the army and has been for just about 10 years. The struggles that military spouses face on a daily basis go from taking care of the kids, putting their careers on hold, being lonely while their partner is on deployment, and everything in between.
Hopefully, this episode offers some reassurance that you are doing GREAT and you are not alone. There is help out there if you need it - just don't be affraid to ask for it!
Traveling with kids has its challenges for sure but adding other family members into the mix like grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, is a whole different story. Whoever says going on a "family vacation" is relaxing is a liar.
On this episode, we break down our family TRIPS (which is different than a vacation because they were anything but relaxing - i.e. a vacation) that we both went on over the July 4th holiday.
At least for Dayna, this was the last family trip her family will be going on for years to come!
Picture this: It's family picture day! You picked out the perfect outfits for you and your family, you have the perfect venue, you arrive basically on time (you're only 5 minutes late), and then you remember you're doing this with children...so this should be a real treat.
Family photos make great memories but let's be honest, they never go as planned. Someone is always hungry, someone is always tired, and they all don't want to be there. That's where the professional photographer comes in to save the day!
On this episode, we enjoy some quality time (drinking in our closets) with Hannah Alvarez, a lifestyle photographer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She tells us the do's and don'ts when it come to wardrobe, location, and keeping your cool during the shoot!
The morning this episode was recorded, Hannah shot Dayna's family pictures for Wyatt's 2nd birthday. And yes, it went exactly how you would expect photographing a toddler would go. Thankfully, Hannah is a magical wizard with a camera because we got amazing pictures.

As we know, there isn't a manual that's given to you when you have a child and Kaela and Dayna are here to share their peaks, pits, and lessons learned along the way.
Kaela is a stay-at-home mom and lives in southwest Michigan with her two children, two dogs, and husband, Zander.
Dayna works full-time in the corporate world and has a son, a dog (whom she refers to as her firstborn) and her husband, Jimmy.
The idea for this show, like Dayna's son, was born during the COVID pandemic and has been a fun and wild ride ever since.
