Pikapi Podcast

(Thank you everyone for your patience as I try to piece back together this podcast!  It has been very time-consuming, but I am making progress and the Holiday Marathon will go as planned, as long as the internet doesn't fail us again!)

Today, Ash fights his first battle of the semi-finals, and also has a romantic encounter?  I'll let you decide whether or not he's actually aware of the fact.  Also, someone racked up a loooot of points for our fantasy Pokemon League game.  Click here to find out who!  You can also download the episode by right-clicking the link and selecting "save link as"!

What has Pokepress been up to?  My oh my, so much!  They started a podcast of their own!  (Not to brag, but I'm kinda in the first episode, you should totally listen.)  Then, they also started reviewing the "Pokemon Christmas Bash" CD!  Check that out, here!

So the Silver Conference has its opening ceremonies and I get to gush about Gary turning into a respectable human being.  There are conversations by the lake, battles in the prelims and of course, Fantasy Pokemon League!  And some discussion on Pokemon Sun and Moon, since I'm having such fun playing that!  Click here to hear how it all went!

Here's Pokepress talking with fans about the Pokemon TCG Pre-release!  Check out this, and their many other vids and interviews.  (I'm in some of them; you totally should!)

The Silver Conference is almost upon us, the torch runner is about to start!  While we wait for that to get underway, I have a long tangent about Pokemon Black and White/ Episode N and what it can teach us about politics.  Ho hum... Click here to listen!

Congratulations to Team Logan and Team Evan!  I look forward to your Fantasy Pokemon League competition!

In music news, you can watch Pokepress unbox the latest character album out of Japan on their Youtube channel!

Crazy future episode ideas, the end of a friend's character arc, and oh!  A game, you say?  You can hear the whole episode here, or keep reading for game details..

All right, Team! We're gonna play Fantasy Pokemon League! I'll break down the rules more later, but here's the basic idea:

Everyone who wants to play will draft 4 characters (at least 1 human

and 1 pokemon) and 1 event and 1 attack, for a total of 6. When the

Silver Conference episodes air, you will all earn points based on what

happens. Such as:
Battle Points: You get a point when one of your characters appears in a Pokemon battle. Bonus point if they win the match.
Hero Points; You get a point if one of your characters save someone.
Romance Points: You get a point if one of your characters falls in love, or someone falls in love with them.

Event Points: In addition to characters, you draft an event, such as

the team rocket motto, wobbofett popping out of its pokeball,

handshakes/highfives, etc. If one of these events happen, you get a

point.
Attack Points: Anytime your drafted attack is used (ex. Thundershock) by any pokemon, you get a point.
Random Points: There will also be a few random or bonus events that you can earn points from.

I'll explain the rules more, and write up a full breakdown of

everything available for drafts later this weekend, and of course, I'll

explain it on the show. Obviously, certain main characters stand to

rack up a lot of points, so there might be handicaps associated with

them.
This is mostly for fun and giggles, but there is a PRIZE! I

knit small dolls, and to the winner, I will knit a little Ash Ketchum

doll and mail it anywhere in the world. So, a little incentive.
Do

you want to play? Please let me know in the comments! We need at least

three people playing for this to work. I don't think I'll need to

impose a max limit on players, but please put your name in the comments

so I have a basic idea!

A legendary Pokemon shows up and takes us through a strange altered reality.  And I maybe spend a good ten minutes ranting about unwanted Pokemon arguments at the anime con.  I know, sigh, I should learn to let things go...  Click here to listen!

Hey, we're almost at the Pokemon League!  I wanna play Fantasy Football, or Fantasy Pokemon!  Keep an eye on the Facebook, because on Friday, I'll put out a post to see who might be interested!

Pokemon music?  Don't mind if I do!  Steven from Pokepress and I got together again to discuss Pokemon movie soundtracks.  For the next month, that special episode is only available on my Patreon page.  Come over and check it out!

You can also find other interviews Pokepress has done, on their blog or Youtube channel!

Getting captured by Team Rocket is a tale as old as time for this crew.  Luckily, they know how to deal.  Today, Larvitar takes a turn being the hero and carrying out the rescue mission, and the issue of evolution comes up again.  Is Ash's team ready for the League this time around?  Click here to listen...

A lot of Pokemon stuff has been happening on the Patreon feed!

Discussions of The Electric Tale of Pikachu and the first movie ending

theme(s).  Pretty soon, Steven and I will be discussing the 2nd movie

themes, so you don't want to miss that!  This way to my Patreon feed,

thatdorkanne, or head this way to visit Pokepress, on their blog or Youtube channel!  Steven just unboxed a mastering CD for the ending credits song "We're a Miracle", a nice little piece of Pokemon music history!

I don't know if you can technically classify this one as a filler episode, since we run into an old friend, have a friend capture and then there's a trade, an evolution and a release from Team Rocket... despite the inauspicious plot, a lot of stuff does happen.  Including true love!  Click here!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, CANADA!

Ash gives birth to a rock monster, sort of.  A surrogate parent, I guess, but welcome to the world, Larvatar!  It's... not the best birthday one could hope for... Larvatar has some problems, and then Team Rocket makes them all worse, but if anyone can help with that, it's Ash, right?  Also starring Professor Oak and Mom!  Click here to listen!
