Pilgrim Priest

Ordinary 23 - We need to get away from the crowd, experience Jesus' love, and be opened to speaking His love to others. I suggest going to Confession and making time for daily prayer. Plug in to the power of God!

To all my American listeners, happy Labor Day weekend. Here are three options from the archives:

God is Close to Us; Are We Far From Him? (#540, 22nd Sunday)

*

Working for the Lord (Homily for Labor Day)

* Better is a Clean Heart (Homily for Aug 30)

Ordinary 21 - Jesus shows that true manhood is laying down your life for others. Christ loves us whole-heartedly. He gives His body and blood so that we can become one flesh with Him. Are you content with your half-hearted love for Jesus?

Ordinary 20 - I read Bishop Ricken’s letter on recent scandals. Then I share my own thoughts about how this is our problem, and what we can do about it. We are grateful that Jesus feeds us with love and mercy so we can journey through evil days.

The Assumption of Mary teaches us three things: 1) Life is a journey 2) It has ups and downs 3) We don't have to do it alone. Keep peddling!

Ordinary 19 - The gift of the Eucharist nourishes us spiritually. It also teaches us to "see" God's love hidden in the world around us. When we see with Eucharistic eyes, we can become the Eucharistic people God made us to be.

Ordinary 18 - We become slaves to fear, pleasure, and expectations. Obedience to God helps us walk away from our pleasures and expectations and through our fears into true life. Like the youth on Steubenville, or parents with a child with disabilities.

I don’t have a homily this weekend but you’re welcome to listen to one of my older homilies on these same readings:

With God we have more than Enough (29 July 2012)

One Boy’s Generosity (26 July 2009)

Thanks for listening and God bless you abundantly.

Ordinary 16 - Where can we go to find true peace? Jesus is with us always and He wants to give us peace. You can always take a moment to be present to the God who is present to you. Move towards the middle of the wheel. Let's start right now.

Ordinary 15 - No you can’t "be anything you want to be.” But that’s OK because your Creator has blessed, destined, and chosen you. You have your own special seat in the symphony. Learn to listen to the Conductor and play your roll well.
