LUVERNE — By and large, the Southwest Minnesota Shootout summer showcase was successful again with 96 regional teams holding court. Two gymnasiums were used, including Luverne High School’s historic classic venue with its auditorium-like feel. EDGERTON — The Raise ‘Em Rank rodeo series will make a stop in the community for Rock River Rodeo Days on Saturday, Aug. 16 at Diamond H Acres. Quartziter Days featured a volleyball tournament in City Park. The event lasted nearly seven hours with seven competitive teams vying for the top spot. In the end, Team Houselog was the champion. The team was, in no particular order, Josh Houselog, Angie Houselog, Ashley Hoheisel, Holden Surat, Michaela Surat and Briana Wallin.
