A woman accidentally shot herself last night in the Strip District. Police and EMS were called to Cheerleaders in the 3100 block of Liberty Avenue around 7:30 p.m. The 21-year-old woman who works at Cheerleaders told officers she was going through her bag in the ladies room when her gun went off, wounding her in the thigh. She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

A 24-year-old man is dead after a stabbing in Fayette County. It happened in Ronco in the area of Hilltop Lane just before midnight. Troopers say they found Shawn Hriscisce [risk seize] dead on the porch of a home. State Police are expected to hold a news conference about the fatal stabbing later today.

To make matters worse, she tells the Big K Morning Show insurance policies don't cover landslides. She introduced legislation that would add coverage of landslides, slope movement and sinkholes to an existing program in the Pennsylvania DEP. ]

New video shows the moments leading up to the death of Jim Rogers two years ago after being repeatedly tazed by Pittsburgh police. Rogers, accused of stealing a bicycle, tussled with a police officer and tried to run away before being tazed. Put in the back of a police cruiser, Rogers told officers he couldn't breathe and needed to go to a hospital. Elizabeth Pittinger with the Citizen Police Review Board shared her reaction to the video with KDKA-TV:

Rogers died at UPMC Mercy the following day. The city settled with his family for $8 million. Five officers were fired and two returned to the force. A grand jury investigation ended without indictments. 

A Flood Advisory is in effect through Thursday along the Ohio River. Rising water is covering the Mon Parking Wharf, the North Shore riverwalk and the Tenth Street Bypass. The river is expected to crest this afternoon at 23 feet. The National Weather Service says Sunday's rainfall broke the daily record for January 28th with just over 1 inch.

US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will be in town today promoting $196 million in federal spending on infrastructure. The Biden Administration announced this week nearly $5 billion in grants for 37 projects, including one in Pittsburgh. A $142 million project will make improvements on the Parkway East. One of the priorities is the flooding-prone stretch of I-376 known as the bathtub.

A dense fog advisory has been extended through 9 p.m. Visibility could drop to a quarter mile or less. Meanwhile, A man and a woman were hospitalized after an early morning shooting in Aliquippa. Police called around 3 a.m. to a home on Main Street near Maratta Road found a man who was shot in the head and a woman with injuries. Their conditions are unknown. State police are investigating the shooting.

[Pittsburgh Police were called to the 1900 block of Huron Street in the South Side following a ShotSpotter alert. Investigators say an officer encountered a man outside a home. About 10 minutes after police responded, they reported shots fired. A man was shot. Officers on scene performed CPR - but the man was pronounced dead at the hospital. It's unclear what led to the shooting. Allegheny County Police are taking over the investigation. Pittsburgh Police will determine the status of the officer involved. ]
