Pittsburgh Steelers Podcast | Steel City Underground

It was a week of WTF’s in Pittsburgh and across the league during Week 16 in the NFL.

Led by T.J Watt, the Steelers made an improbable comeback to best the Colts and clinch the AFC North. Watt now has 15 sacks on the season, a personal best which also puts him in rare air in the Steel City and headlines his bid for league Defensive Player of the Year.

Further south, T.J.’s brother J.J. Watt made an epic postgame rant which went viral after the Texans were embarrassed by the Bengals (who themselves won their second-straight game and first on the road in over a year!)

The Patriots are on the verge of their worst season in twenty years while the Washington Football Team released a quarterback who was their first round pick in 2019 and formerly named a team captain.

There’s plenty of news coming out of the next-to-last week of football action and Terry covers it all on this episode.

Joe and Brian talk about a tale of two halves as they went from abandoning all hope for the Steelers 2020 season to being reinvigorated with whatever helped Pittsburgh’s offense overcome a 17-point deficit in their 28-24 comeback victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

It was an ugly first half for the Steelers, continuing the slump that saw them lose three-straight games in December. However, the second half showed promise for the formerly unbeaten team, who picked up their first win since dropping their first loss.

Brian welcomes Joe back, who discusses his awful experience in Cincinnati on Monday night while using those observations together to figure out whether or not the Steelers can redeem their season this Sunday when they face the Indianapolis Colts.

What exactly is the problem with the Steelers offense? Or is it multiple problems? Can they be fixed or is it already too late?

Terry has a lot of WTF’s to talk about on this week’s episode of the WTF Podcast, but what is new?

Well, the New York Jets finally won a game – but did they actually win in the long run by falling from the top pick in the NFL Draft next year?

AFC teams are steamrolling ahead as the Steelers thoroughly embarrass themselves on Monday Night Football against the Bengals. And when will defensive players learn that throwing punches will get you thrown out of a game?

Terry talks about these topics and more from Week 15 in the NFL.

Brian E. Roach is joined by Zach “The Professor” Metkler as the duo try to find anything positive to say about the Monday Night disaster in Cincinnati.

The Steelers continue to struggle offensively and put their division hopes in jeopardy by losing to the division rival Bengals.

What went wrong? Did anything go right and is there any reason to be optimistic about the Black & Gold’s chances for the final two games of the season?

Joe and Brian are back to preview Monday Night Football’s primetime encounter between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals are a team down on their luck, but during the last two weeks, so have been the Steelers. Is this the game where Pittsburgh finally turns things around heading into the final stretch of the regular season?

Or do the bad performances continue as the Steelers once perfect season slides into obscurity?

These answers, along with replacing any “backs” are answered in this episode.

Terry returns with Week 14’s WTF moments in the NFL, which include some crazy storylines.

The Ravens and Browns combined for 89 points on Monday Night Football, but that wasn’t the highlight, as Lamar Jackson “cramped up” and left the game. The Steelers dropped their second-straight loss of the season to fall to 11-2, which saw one of their star receivers get benched for dropped passes and the Seahawks continued the Jets “perfect season”.

All of this and more in the latest episode.

The Steelers dropped their second-straight game on Sunday night to the Bills, but the season is far from over. The duo will explain why fans should, or should not, panic yet in Pittsburgh.

Joe Kuzma and Zach Metkler join forces to focus on the Steelers next game while answer burning questions from fans and critics alike.

Why isn’t Derek Watt used more on offense? Is there a problem with the running game? If so, when did it start?

And does “balance” on offense really matter?

The duo drives those narratives into Sunday Night Football where the Steelers travel to take on the Buffalo Bills, as the hosts address how Pittsburgh matches up well their upcoming opponent.
