Pittsburgh Steelers Podcast | Steel City Underground

Brian, "the host who doesn't like toast" is joined by SCU contributor Zach Metkler to discuss potential targets for the Steelers in each round of this year's draft. The guys break down why they think each prospect could be a fit for the Steelers, and why they might be there when the Steelers pick.

Some names will sound familiar, but there is more than one surprise as they run through the potential prospects.

SCU's 2018 Steelers NFL Draft "War Room" is now available everywhere eBooks are sold:

With several new signings by the Pittsburgh Steelers, is the franchise now set to follow General Manager Kevin Colbert's ideology of "best player available" in the 2018 NFL Draft?

Brian is joined by Christina as they wrap up Le'Veon Bell discussions in an episode they've tagged, "Revenge of the Franchise Tag", and talk about the possibility of the Steelers rescinding the "exclusive" tag or fulfilling their commitment to Bell. They also cover the new signings and what those players bring to the team for 2018.

If Le'Veon Bell is on his way out of Pittsburgh in the coming year or so, would the Steelers consider drafting his successor this season? What might that look like?

Joe and Brian take a look at past drafts to see where successful running backs were selected, as well as highlight some names in the 2018 draft class who the Steelers could bring on board.

Le'Veon Bell says the city of Pittsburgh is treating him like a villain when he wants to be accepted as a hero. On today's show, Joe and Brian talk about why Bell may be portrayed either way and if he's worth the reported $17 million a year he's asking for.

There are a number of arguments for, and against, paying Bell what he wants, and that factors into his current superhero, or super-villain, status.

Following another free agent addition to the Steelers defense, Joe and Brian ask: is Pittsburgh's defense better than when we last saw it?

The additions of Jon Bostic and Morgan Burnett may prove to be more than a "stop-gap" for the Steelers to make more moves. Today the SCU team will discuss that and then some in regard to the team's offseason plans.

Oh boy... Joe and Brian have discussed at length about why a quarterback isn't in the Steelers 2018 draft plans.

But what if one were?

The Steelers are starting to attend college pro days and after visiting with Oklahoma State, the mock draft rumor mill continues to churn out a passer for Pittsburgh's top pick.

How do the guys at SCU feel if this were to happen?

It's a mixed reaction, which includes hypothetically worse situations.

Joe Kuzma and Brian Roach return to talk about free agency.

The Steelers started the new league year by removing players from their roster and not doing much of anything else, while one of their longtime rivals went on a shopping spree. Today, Joe and Brian discuss if "winning" free agency is a winning strategy, and why the Steelers aren't inclined to join in the spending frenzy.

They'll also talk about the Steelers moves with, what will be, a new-look defensive backfield in 2018.

Joe Kuzma and Brian Roach hop on another ring of discussion about Le'Veon Bell, this time, over the running back's Instagram Live question and answer session on Wednesday night.

Should fans be supportive or upset with Bell's demands? And does Bell even know what he's demanding? Will he play or will he sit?

Joe and Brian break down those talking points and more on today's show.
