Pittsburgh Steelers Podcast | Steel City Underground

Brian's back to get some payback for comments Joe made last week, plus give us a definitive answer on whether or not waffles are an acceptable form of sustenance.

Oh, and there's football talk too!

One comment making rounds across the Internet piggybacks off of Big Ben's comments about the draft and "winning now". Fans have said similar, but the SCU hosts will address why anyone saying that the team didn't address their defense this offseason isn't seeing the bigger picture.

Terry Fletcher joins Joe Kuzma on today's episode to discuss the hot topic from the weekend: Ben Roethlisberger's interview with local Pittsburgh radio station 93.7 The Fan.

Is Big Ben entitled to say some of the things he said on Friday? And should fans be so critical when many have said the same things following the 2018 NFL Draft?

Or would we all pretend to prefer a vanilla "Peyton Manning" like answer from the franchise quarterback?

This and more as the duo digs into the details of Roethlisberger's comments.

Today we welcome a special guest who has some special insight on players headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp from NC State. Brian Reinhardt, the Director of Athletics Digital Communications at NC State, weighs in on Steelers fifth-round draft selection Jaylen Samuels and undrafted free agent signing Pharoah McKever (who recently transferred from NC State to Florida International).

Both players offer the versatility that the Steelers coaching staff seems to covet. However, it's especially difficult to pinpoint Samuels exact role other than what Brian calls him: "an all-purpose back".

Joe and Brian (Reinhardt... Brian Roach is on assignment) dig into what makes Jaylen Samuels a steal in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft and why other teams may regret passing on him earlier on in the process.

After a short break, Joe returns to join Brian as the duo debate on the day's topic: where does James Harrison belong in not only Steelers history, but that of the NFL?

The conversation segues into the upcoming NFL Draft. With draft day around the corner, what position is the most important for the Steelers to spend their top pick on? And who is the team targeting to add with that 28th overall pick?

The SCU team talks about those players the Steelers have shown the most interest in, and what round they could be available in.
