Spreadsheets and calendars can be communication tools. It’s a burden on one person to know everything and control everything.
– Monica Froese
On this episode of the Plan Simple Meals Podcast, I’m really excited to talk with Monica Froese, who left the corporate world after her daughter was born and now teaches mom entrepreneurs how to ditch their 9–5 careers and start thriving online businesses. I love just how organized Monica is—I think she has a spreadsheet for everything. That’s actually how we connected originally.
Monica talks about how she left her job and changed her mindset to fit in running a business, self-care, and more time with her daughter. We talk about how what you need to do expands to the time you have to do it—and how to use that idea to our advantage.
Monica is intense in her workouts and her business, but she makes sure she has down time. I’ve been really focused on how managing our calendars helps make time for the important things, and we talk about the different ways she creates space in her calendar.
We talk about:

On this episode of the Plan Simple Meals Podcast, I’m really excited to talk with Emily Kristofferson, who I met through Facebook years ago because she was talking a lot about farmer’s markets and healthy cooking. But she’s also an online business coach, marketing strategist and and execution expert, and we eventually worked together. She’s also the mom to a 10-year-old.
Since Emily and I first met over food, we started talking about that, and Emily says cooking is one of her hobbies. She talks about different ways she incorporates cooking with her son, from having him do the math to half recipes to practicing his printing by writing the grocery list. And she tells us about having a different kind of picky eater.
Emily started her business to be there for her son and do what she loves, which may sound familiar to many mom entrepreneurs. But work quickly took over until she did some boundary work.
We talk about:

When she’s not coaching and consulting, you can find her taking my son for a swim, experimenting with healthy recipes, or cooing at her cats,

On this episode of the Plan Simple Meals Podcast, I’m really excited to talk with Natalie Matushenko. Natalie and I have known each other for years and it’s great to have her here today. She’s a coach, soulful mentor, and teacher. She’s also the mama to three girls, ages 7, 12 and 15.
Natalie grew up in the Ukraine until age 8, when her family emigrated to the United States. She grew up with the idea of getting good grades to get into a good college to get a “good” job. She talks about how she left the high paying, high powered job to do what she loves—and how she helps other people do what they love.
That experience of going against the norm and people’s expectations helped her to move her family to Colombia after she realized that living in another country was a deep seated dream. We dive into following dreams, dealing with details and getting past fear.

– Shay Hrobsky
On this episode of the Plan Simple Meals Podcast, I’m really excited to talk with Shay Hrobsky, a mompreneur with her own marketing company and two kids, who’s trying—like most of us—to find some kind of balance and getting ready to launch something help others with balance.
Shay explains how she left a job that caused her literally to pass out from stress, how working from home turned back into working too much, and how she finally started her own business. And then she talks about hitting the breaking point and cutting back to find what worked for her.
This year Shay’s core values are fun, transparency, community, being connected and cozy. She explains how she uses these as touch points throughout the year to make decisions about what she does. She asks questions like: Is this a part of one of the values that I have for this year? Is it going to move me towards my goal? Is it going to help? These kinds of practices are so important.
