Planet FPL - The Fantasy Football Podcast

Bournemouth fan Neil Grover joins Suj and James to conclude Correspondent Week Saturday to discuss why the narrative around The Cherries from outside the club is negative going into their return to the Premier League.

A lack of signings has fans and neutrals worried and means that currently Scott Parker can't switch to a back five should he so wish to do so because he doesn't have enough defenders to do it! And the opening fixtures are not kind.

But there is a brilliant and sustained run that begins in Gameweek 5 that FPL managers should take note of and players such as Mark Travers, Jack Rothwell, Phil Billing and talisman Dominic Solanke should all be watched closely.

Plus, a consciousness of being self sustaining, planned infrastructure improvements, the benefits of a settled squad and why FPL managers without Erling Haaland should take note...

Suj & James are joined by Tottenham fan Ricky Saunders to give the full rundown on The Lilywhites and there is great interest from FPL managers in their assets.

There's a deep dive in to the complicated situation in the much coveted wing-back positions and there are differing opinions between James & Ricky.

Up front should Harry Kane or Heung-Min Son be favoured for FPL managers. The good news is both look bang in form in pre-season so it could be a case of finding the favoured combination with players from other teams.

Plus, Ricky makes a strong case for FPL managers to include Dejan Kulusevski, why the Gameweek 1 line-up might not feature too many of the 6 new signings, advances could still be made for another attacking player, the importance of Antonio Conte and could Tottenham make a challenge for the title?

Correspondent Week Saturday kicks off with Manchester United fan Gary Robinson joining Suj & James to discuss the Red Devils, a new era under Erik Ten Hag and the FPL assets of interest at Old Trafford.

But much of the conversation revolves around the future of Cristiano Ronaldo who reportedly wants out of the club. Should United allow him to leave? And what is the impact on United both on the field, within the club and for FPL should he stay or go?

More is expected of many of the attacking players, Bruno Fernandes form dipped, Jadon Sancho is coming into his second season, Anthony Martial is back from a loan at Sevilla and Marcus Rashford is trying to overcome a prolonged spell of injuries. Can they get back to levels expected previously?

Plus, Harry Maguire's role and future, Diogo Dalot's potential appeal as a budget FPL defender, how Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen may fit in and the long saga of protracted Frankie De Jong transfer from Barcelona (...yep them again!)

Brighton fan Sam Murray joins Suj & James to wrap up Correspondent Week Friday and discuss The Seagulls, their hopes for the season and the FPL assets we should have our eye on.

There's discussion on the forwards with Neal Maupay rumoured to be moving on, a ripped Danny Welbeck looks set to start but can Deniz Undav force his way in and give FPL managers a gateway to a starting 5.5 forward?

Budget players at the back appeal including keeper Robert Sanchez and captain Lewis Dunk, Lewis Trossard's name is inevitably mentioned and his positioning could appeal and James is keen to know more about Moises Caciedo.

Plus, the impact of losing Yves Bissouma, speculation over Marc Cucurella's future won't go away and why again Brighton shouldn't be undrestimated. But can they avoid the annual winless streak they always seem to go on?

West Ham fan Chris Stone joins Suj & James to discuss The Hammers and the best FPL assets from The London Stadium.

Can The Hammers break back into the top 6 again or will commitments in Europe hinder consistency?

New signing Nayef Aguerd could be out until after the World Cup but with Gianluca Scamacca now a confirmed addition upfront The Hammers have additional firepower, but is it to the benefit of Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio's FPL appeal?

Plus, who's likely to start in goal, are there 4.5 defensive assets to consider or is the Aguerd injury too damaging? Thomas Soucek and Pablo Fornals are debated for the 5.5 midfield bracket and the likely favoured starting formation.

Suj & James kick off Correspondent Week Friday with Leicester City correspondent Aaron Lagor and there's only one place to start, where's the signings?

But with no European distractions and key players like Wesley Fofana fit again Leicester could kick on but doubts remain about the futures of the likes of Youri Tielemans.

For FPL managers there are plenty of interesting options; the 4.5 full-backs appeal, midfielders James Maddison (8.0), Harvey Barnes (7.0) and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (5.0) should all be considered and Jamie Vardy always starts a season well.

Plus, Kasper Schmeichel could be leaving, is Brendan Rodgers under pressure and the importance of The Foxes opening two home games and the brilliant run from Gameweek 9...

Suj & James are joined by new Chelsea correspondent Gary Mantle to discuss The Blues FPL assets and hopes for the new season... but not all is well following the heavy pre-season defeat to Arsenal.

Thomas Tuchel is not happy, there's an investigation into why and the learnings are that Chelsea need but are struggling to make new signings.

All the FPL assets of interest are discussed including Edouard Mendy, Reece James, Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling.

Plus, back three expected, likely starting line-up, the interesting home and away fixtures quirk and the club takeover

As we enter the second half of Correspondent Week Suj & James welcome Newcastle United fan Simon Bibby and he's come armed with the help of some friends to give a wider view from more Newcastle fans on their FPL assets!

With Nottingham Forest up first Newcastle assets appeal, those on FPL managers minds are discussed including Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimares, Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson.

But could Si really be tipping up Almirgeddon as an option...!?

Plus, further signings expected, where they may be, the impact of a possible injury to Jonjo Shelvey may have on Guimares and seasons expectations...

Welcome to The Pedro Neto Podcast! It's Wolves next on Correspondent week as Bradley Parker joins Suj & James to discuss his team and why this season might be different to last.

Is Neto a trap? A gift? Is he without question the best 5.5 midfield asset in FPL? Could Morgan Gibbs-White offer an alternative within the same club?

Plus, a new Wolves to look forward to with a switch to a back four, why the days of Conor Coady as 1st choice could be over, what Wolves may do if Raul Jimenez isn't available for Gameweek and if Jose Sa and the 4.5 full-backs are being overlooked by FPL managers...

It's time to discuss The Champions on Correspondent Week as Manchester City fan Jonny Pringle joins Suj & James to discuss City and their FPL assets ahead of Gameweek 1.

The case against Erling Haaland is a difficult one to build and with Joao Cancelo likely to be popular many FPL managers will be trying to decide on their third City player, but could it be better to not decide at all...?

Likely opening day line-up discussed, lack of full-back depth, how City will supplement Haaland with and without the ball, why that could make Kevin De Bruyne as exciting as he has ever been to both watch and own for FPL managers, it's now year 2 for Jack Grealish, but can he nail down a place ahead of Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez.

Plus, why youth will continue to get a chance in the City squad, Jonny's thoughts on how Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling will perform now they have left the club and the Pod begins with hearing how Jonny (tried) to keep his emotions together during the dramatic GW38 win against Aston Villa...
