Planet FPL - The Fantasy Football Podcast

Suj & James welcome Aston Villa correspondent Lee Jackson on to the Podcast discuss hopes for improvements in Steven Gerrard's first full season in charge and the majority of the squad are showing themselves as interesting options for FPL managers with great opening fixtures.

Matty Cash v Lucas Digne may be a closer decision than current ownership numbers suggest in the battle between the 5.0 defenders, but their output could be affected by the formation Gerrard selects.

It's 4-3-3 or a diamond but it's not clear if there's a favoured set up and the potential impact could affect several players including the popular Phillipe Coutinho (7.0), Leon Bailey (5.0) and Danny Ings (7.0).

Plus, an intro to new signings Diego Carlos and Boubacar Kamara, why Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins together doesn't seem to work like it feels like it should, who will have favourtism between Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa and why the exciting Carney Cuckwuemeka may be leaving the club...

Fulham Correspondent Dara Curran kicks off Suj & James's Wednesday coverage of Correspondent Week by discussing The Cottagers and the best FPL assets from last season's Championship Winners.

There's frustration at the lack of transfer activity, repeating mistakes from two years ago but incomings are on the way and those that are close to joining are discussed.

There's an intro to new signings Palhinha, Manor Soloman and 4.5 FPL gold Andreas Pereira who is likely to start the season on some set-pieces and play in an attacking midfield position.

Plus, why Aleksandr Mitrovic could excel this time, why Harry Wilson shouldn't be discounted from FPL managers thoughts but why the opening fixtures will be off putting and why a slow start could lead to a long hard season...

Suj & James wrap up Correspondent Week Tuesday by discussing Brentford with @FPLDummyTom and there should be plenty of interest for FPL managers with some well priced assets and a very interesting opening set of fixtures.

Is David Raya the clear number one in goal or could new signing Thomas Strakosha take his place? There's a detailed debate on the goalkeeper situation followed by concern about injuries at centre-back, a position which has been bolstered by the addition of Ben Mee.

Is record signing Keane Lewis-Potter likely to start or will fellow 5.5 FPL midfielder Yoanne Wissa keep his place?

Plus Aaron Hickey's potential, why Bryan Mbeumo shouldn't be discounted, second season syndrome, the loss of Christian Eriksen and the potential gold in 4.5 Josh DaSilva and the consistently excellent Ivan Toney...

On the fifth episode of Correspondent Week Suj & James speak to Arsenal fan Adam Pritchard about The Gunners hopes for the new season and the best FPL assets from The Emirates.

Does Gabriel Jesus justify being the highest owned player in the game? Adam's delighted he's signed but not convinced that the ownership numbers are justified.

Could the value in Arsenal therefore lie in the midfield spots through the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka?

There's talk of Arsenal's investment in Oleksandr Zinchenko and where the 5.0 asset is likely to play during the season, injury concerns in the full-back areas persist, why William Saliba could finally be set for his Arsenal Premier League debut in Gameweek 1 and the brilliant opening set of fixtures that mean it's difficult to overlook Arsenal FPL assets as they bid to get back in the top 4.

Tuesday's Planet FPL Correspondent Week Podcasts kick off with Andy Martin joining Suj & James to discuss his club Leeds United, the best FPL assets at Elland Road and hopes that next season a flirtation with relegation can be avoided.

The Pod begins by discussing the impact the sales of key men Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha may have and then moves on to discuss the new arrivals, Rasmus Kristensen, Tyler Adams, Marc Roca, Brenden Aaronson and Luis Sinsterra.

Plus, Jesse Marsch's narrow tactics, current concerns about the left-back position, the appeal of Illan Meslier, the potential for minutes for Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood and concerns over Patrick Bamford persist...

Fantasy Football legend Mark Sutherns joins Suj & James to discuss Nottingham Forest's promotion to the Premier League after an absence of 23 years and the beat FPL assets from The City Ground.

There's discussion on the incredible turnaround and the wave optimism that is sweeping through the club's support since the appointment of Steve Cooper.

Tactics and formation are discussed and why Jesse Lingard is likely to be at the hub of everything Forest do, who Mark thinks is best out of the 6.0 'split' forwards Brennan Johnson and Taiwo Awoniyi, the obvious choice of 4.0 defender Neco Williams appeals and is covered, but concerns about the left hand side and central midfield area could mean a difficult start for last season's Play-Off winners and despite new signings it could be the same back three that started last season...

On the second Podcast of Correspondent week Suj & James speak to Southampton fan Matt Samuel to find out about Saints likely system and their new incomings.

Three at the back appears to be the way Ralph Hassenhuttl wants to go, could this lead to greater solidity at the back for Saints? But could it also lead to concerns about scoring at the other end?

There's discussion on imminent new signing Sekou Mara, but why Saints probably still need another additional striker.

Are new signings Gavin Bazunu, Armel Bella-Kotchap, Romeo Lavia and Joe Aribo likely starters and can they be considered as FPL options?

Plus, depth concerns at wing-back, likley GW1 line-up, the nasty opening fixture runs, whether Matt would consider captaining Harry Kane or Heung-Min Son against Saints in GW1 and the consistency of James Ward-Prowse with comparisons to other 6.5 FPL assets...
