Planet Shivers reaches episode eighty with prolific jazz musician Bill Crow.
Bill Crow is as multi-instrumentalist and author of two books as well as countless articles on jazz over the years. Born in 1927 in Othello, Washington, Bill went on to play with Gerry Mulligan, Benny Goodman, Stan Getz, Zoot Sims, and MANY more including a one-off performance with Duke Ellington.
In this recording, Bill tells stories you won’t hear anywhere else, and has me hanging on every word. From playing in the army band, rooming with vocalist Dave Lambert, or trading vinyl with Charlie Parker, Bill’s stories are vivid and interesting.
I hope you enjoy this amazing episode, and help us all celebrate eighty episodes of this grass-roots, homegrown, all-natural, non-GMO podcast
