The Planet Shivers Podcast is joined today by painter and illustrator, Bob Eggleton!
Predominately known for his paintings of Godzilla and his monster gang, Bob has done extensive work in science fiction and fantasy art, including working with Dark Horse Comics, Famous Monsters of Filmland, the Magic the Gathering card game, and much more; all while becoming a 9-Time Hugo Award Winner!
In this episode Bob and I talk about how he rose into the artist he is now, Godzilla board games, his childhood interest in space and dinosaurs, Sci-Fi novels, AI artwork, his creative process, as well as where Bob draws his inspiration.
It was very cool to speak with Bob, and an honor to have him on the show. I’ve seen Bob’s artwork since I was a kid, which makes this a big score of an episode for me! I’m excited to share the conversation with you all!

On this episode of the Planet Shivers Podcast, artist Caren Jo Shapiro joins the show to talk about her art, her life, and how the two intersect. Born in New York City, Caren traveled the world. Caren’s artwork concentrates predominantly on social justice and politics. She puts her feelings and beliefs into each painting, and strong passion behind each brush stroke. Caren also shares stories from her life experiences, growing up as a lesbian in a very different time, rough art shows, as well as stories from Amsterdam and the U.K.

On this episode of the Planet Shivers podcast, Kimbra Eberly comes on the show to talk about all the different things she has going on. We cover her artwork, her music, the radio and television shows she hosts, and most of all her interest in the case of Lizzie Borden. Kimbra has extensively studied the Borden case, as well as the cases of other murderous women. Kimbra has written and book, and does a podcast about it as well. We cover all that as well as some Staten Island history and the current culture in my old hometown.
The secret word for this episode is, fittingly, AXE. Time stamp when we say AXE in the comments on Youtube, and get a shout out in the next episode of the podcast.

On this (last minute) episode of the Planet Shivers podcast we celebrate Louis Armstrong’s birthday with some one-sided conversation.
I talk about Armstrong’s legacy, share some stories, and recommend albums.
I put this all together at the eleventh hour, so forgive any yelling, weird noises, and rambling!

It’s episode ONE-HUNDRED for The Planet Shivers Podcast, and the title says it all. After a lot of over-planning not working out, this episode boils down to three friends. Fitting for the no-frills approach this podcast has grown on!
From episode one until ninety-nine, I have gotten closer to some friends and made a lot of new friends. This project has been such a gift, and I hope those who have been on this ramshackle show enjoyed it also. Isaac and Stephen have been there since the beginning of the show, and I’m happy to have them celebrate episode one hundred!
The three of us cover current music, crazy trips, Saturday nights with Cardi B.,
school days, Jewish summer camps, and even do jokes!
The secret word for this episode is: BALANCE. Be the first to comment the correct time-stamp on Youtube, and get a shout-out in the following episode!

On this episode of the Planet Shivers Podcast it’s another roundtable with all your favorites people (at least my favorite), as well as some new voices as well. Together we talk heavy on local history.
We begin with stories of the infamous Doane Brothers, and then into the Native American history of North East Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey.
Then Don Wilson shares stories of his own deep Dutch family history and a woman, Penelope; who survived a Native American revolt, and then was aided by another tribe.
As I’ve said before, I really enjoy these roundtable talks with some of my closets friends. It’s a true callback to family dinners, and talking around the table with the people you enjoy spending time with.
